I can't believe anyone has sympathy for this clown. He has been given umpteen chances to sort his shit out and only when it finally occurs to him that the big cheques are actually really going to stop this time he scurries off to rehab playing the depression card. Having first hand experience with depression Im over this twit. I don't blame Brisbane at all, perhaps Carlton should have been tougher with him when he was younger? eh whatever.

How many other team meetings did he miss then? Any number?

Only rules he broke repeated times that you stated are getting drunk and possibly missing team meetings. I doubt hes the only player to get drunk more than once a year and I havnt heard about him missing multiple team meetings.

Maybe the club should introduce a No alchohol policy amongst all its players.

It has previously been reported that he has missed at least one other rehab training session - so that would be at least two infringements of the obligations detailed in 1.1. He was also seen out all night while undergoing rehab. In combo with the alleged China sessions that is multiple infringements of the obligations detailed in 1.4 and 1.6. While the Lions have been more tactful than to release all of the details the media posited late last year that the Lions had details of more than half a dozen other infractions to that point.

Club came out and denied the out while in rehab line a while ago I thought. Either way it comes off sounding like they sacked him based on Herald Sun gossip at this stage.

Club came out and denied the out while in rehab line a while ago I thought.

Nope.

Given the industry, I imagine more details will come out, notwithstanding that it is no-one's business outside of Fev, the club and his management.

So why don't Fev and his management know yet?

How do you know they don't?

I'll preempt some further discussion.

ManWithNoName: His manager said they haven't been told yet!

Me: Yep, he said that yesterday. A lot can change in 18 hours.

ManWithNoName: Why the delay then?

Me: Who knows? They will though, or I imagine they'll be sued. My money's on the former.

If you want to join others in this thread to arrive at a conclusion without knowing all the reasons for the sacking that will be given in time PROVIDED Fev and his management agree to them being made public...go right ahead.

To me it sounds like the line of reasoning (as related by Carl Sagan in the Cosmos TV series) that led some people to once think that maybe dinosaurs were living on the planet Venus.....that was before they knew that the surface temperature was 480 degrees C.

never a good look to disclude the person sacked from a reason why.

loving this today as well.

"He's very happy that the charges have been dropped, but I don't know he's too happy this week," he said.

"Brendan Fevola has no criminal history whatsoever and he'll still have a clean sheet at the end of these proceedings. I think ensuring that you don't have any criminal entries in your history is very desirable."

Mr Coburn also denied the former Lion had received preferential treatment.

"No, this is the ordinary procedure. He's a person without any criminal history whatsoever and the police have acknowledged that. They have acknowledged that he has now undertaken seven weeks of rehabilitation which have addressed the cause of his offending behaviour,'' he said.

"Because it was Brendan Fevola, it was made a lot more difficult than it otherwise had been for any average Joe in the street."

WTF does that mean?

Campbell, can you point to the last post made by you where you actually said something supportive of the club you purport to follow?

Being as polite as I can, maybe it's time for you to make a change.

In other words, Fev's reputation of being a bad boy contributed to his downfall?

They're talking about his arrest there aren't they? Nothing to do with his "downfall".

I am confused. where does it say in the membership package I get each year, that I actually have to blindly believe and support the club says or does?

Being as polite as I can, maybe your should leave me alone.:(

That's an amazing attitude.

The great big salarys for players and the great big budgets Clubs operate on come directly and indirecly from one source only. The paying public. Who are therefore entitled to be interested and hold opinions.

Bottom line is that the stench of Brisbane's cynical motives far exceeds a serial bozo getting pissed. Again.

The salary of, say, the CEO of Wesfarmers comes from the same source - direct from the public! I don't see their customers demanding the forensic details behind his sacking - "But I shop at Coles, I have a right to know!"

Quit trying to hide your salacious gossip mongering behind a facade of righteousness. How about you go buy New Idea for your gossip fix instead?

LOL at a Carlton supporter talking about cynical motives....Goddard and Wells would have looked good running around in navy blue.....laughing again and loving the fact it didn't happen.

Keep your scorn for somebody who gives a shit.

THe CEO of Wesfarmers aint getting massive endorsement payments for - being a public figure.

And I'm a Club Member. Are you? Somebody as mouthy on the subject surely must be.

That makes us more akin to shareholders than customers.

As for salacious gossip, it aint no secret that the contemptible organisation which is the Brisbane Lions is allready negotiating with Mitch Clark about how much they need to underpay Fevola's settlement to stop Clark from jumping ship.

What, because Jon Ralph said so?

No because the Loins have significant recent form in being unable to keep players at the Club. Clark gets a massive pay rise, or he's following the others out the revovling door.

If you want to make a case that Brisbane is not in a world of salary cap hurt - self inflicted - I'm all ears. Penisgate tells us all we need to know about the Club's motivation in this.

Even the AFL was smart enough to stay right out of it. It's just going to get messier and messier. Fevola is neither a worse nor better man today than the day Brisbane fell over themselves to recruit him. THere are players out there who have been convicted of criminal assault, and remain unsacked.

Good luck with the AFLPA and Fevs lawyers. You are gunna need it.

I love how you garnish each post with a selection of taunts that aren't even relevent to the post you are replying to. Doesn't do much good for your thinly constructed pretense of being an objective poster, but it's revealing nonetheless.

I love how you never ever respond to being revealed as an abject appologist for anything and everything the Loins do.

I imagine TBD,having been a constant and vocal critic of his club on several fronts, particularly over the last 12 to 18 months will treat that completely untrue load of rubbish with the contempt it deserves and not dignify it with a reply....but not me.

Please advise the last time you criticised your club on this forum about anything and give us all a link.....I am sure many would like to know that you weren't indulging in a hypocritical post...as well as one that is incorrect in factual content.

Go away.

This hero of yours has constantly shifted his opinion of the Fevola acquisition to suit the facts of the day. it was a triumph, then it may have been not so good, then we welcome the cap room getting rid of him will open up (that was during the disgraceful penisgate episode). And now, apparently, the massive fck up is all Fev's fault. Even though Fev hasn't actually changed one little bit.

As much as I admire your loyalty to your little tin god, find one who has principles.
