Personally, I just don't know why we didn't make Carlton sweat a little further. There is still under 2 hours of trading to be done, I would have thought we could have forced their hand further, but typically we cave like the amateurs we are. It just did not have to be Henderson, don't really care about pick 12 as much, but Hendo will be a gun.

I just don't think Voss is a career coach and going for all of the glory at whatever cost regardless of how detrimental any success attained now will be at the expense of the long term future and viability of the club. He obviously is selfish in that respect and without ever tainting his good name and reputation he will try and pinch a premiership before he gets found out that he does not have faith in his own ability to develop what was a pretty good list.

Yes I am emtional, but in my mind, Voss and his lap dogs came to trade week and got pumped. I have lost a lot of respect for the man.

Win/win imo.
Best forward line in the comp, tilting for the premiership for the next three years after they had won 3 in a row earlier in the decade for young talent and a great KPP that will build a future for Carltank.
Very very even.

I reckon we've got more trading to do - that's why.

Time to take a Prozac people - we won't know how good this trade is for at least 2 or 3 years.

Those not wanting to barrack for the Lions or losing respect for Vossy over his dealings this week should go and support Richmond. They are renowned for eating their own!

A 28-yr old that will kick around 100 goals.

You guys should be happy, you have done very well.

The two leading goal kickers in the same side + Bradshaw if he still in the fwd line... now that is special :thumbsu:

I think you underestimate the regard in which Henderson was held on these boards. It is a complete shock to all Lions supporters.

This has spoilt my Friday:(

At least we are having a crack.

Ya think? Ask a 10 year old if they want Fev to play for the Lions, and you hear the response no cos he's a drunk. Do I want my son to follow a team who puts on field success ahead of an overall ethos who support the off field antics of someone that urinates in public, that spits on people's faces, that disrespects women.

There is more to supporting a team for me than the goals that are scored the Pride have always made me Proud.

Why should a leader like Jonathan Brown have it put upon him to keep his this pig in line. Why should our young kids, our emeging superstars have to be outshadowed by this scumbags antics.

I could go on but I won't I am in the minority obviously and provided I can lie in bed straight at night I will always do what is right for me and my family.

Tell me how do you feel about Albert Proud playing for the Lions then?????

Fev is a drunk big deal he gets blind and does stupid things. Browny will keep him in line. Vossy is one of the most respected men around players want to play for him and won't root him around.

Also part of the job of a captain and coach is to keep there players in line which obviously didn't happen at Carlton. Judd and Ratten a weak a 2 year old could walk all over them.

And yet we were happy to entertain Martin Pike who was a standout in the premiership years. How quick people forget.

Great post...not sure what the bone of contention was regarding Ben Cousins if we take on Fevola.

Here we have traded our furture away and a quality young man and player in Henderson, who some have said could have been our next captain, and a further first round draft pick for an animal like Fevola. I would pay money to see the looks on the faces of Voss and his lap dogs including Allan if the "Animal" was to do his knee early in the year. TBH, it would serve the club right, and I for one couldn't care if it happened. As much as the Animal will play for our club, he aint no Lion!

Unbelievable work people - great trade, it's like you took on the house and won!!

LOL @ all the non-Brisbane supporters saying how we won this trade easily. Probably thinking "Hendasun??? WHO!?" Makes me sick to the stomach that he could play 10 years and dominate at Carlton. :thumbsd:

+1 I've been an unabashed Hendo pumperer upperer. Seeing him in that disgusting guernsey will be completely ****ed.

Very happy that we get Fev and keep Bradshaw and Riska, although i still think we will lose Riska for nothing next year. However, big Hendo fan and disappointed he is leaving. I was looking forward to the years of Hendo up forward after Bradshaw.

However, the club has choosen and clear direction to challenge for a flag in the next few years, and if thats what we are trying to do, we have certainly gone about it the right way. In the end, great trading for what the club is clearly trying to do in the next few years.

GabbaMan says yes, yes, yes. The best trade week ever.
The Lions are back with a new dynasty, look out Cats.

"The biggest mistake the Calrton Football club has ever made, brendan is the best forward in the league, and we got some rubbish player henderson? 100 plus goalkicker, it doesnt matter what he does off the field, its about kicking goals"
. . . disgruntled Carlton supporter, 2009

Win/win, I reckon.
The 2 clubs are on different timelines and this trade suits both quite well.
Besides, Fev could not stay at Carlton a second longer. And J Brown is possibly the 1 man in the league who could pull Fev's head in if needed.

What is wrong with you people? Fevola is the coleman medalist, he is in the prime of his career, probably 5 more years left in him (that's 2014).

Your attitude to this trade is even more incredible considering a major keystone to the 2001 and 2002 premierships was attaining Martin Pike who was also a bad "off field behaver".

We traditionally stay out of trade week but this week we just shocked EVERYONE. We attained 5 players that ANY team in the AFL would take. Buchanan, Clarke and Staker and great midfielders.

Guys, can you imagine how many goals Fevola will kick for us? The guy is a genius, no kidding. This is a major moment in the clubs history attaining all these players and it's going to be really good (I really hope).

The Carlton fans really love Fev and I have a strong feeling Brisbane fans will love him just as much eventually but at the moment I think a few (IF NOT ALL) of you re thinking with your hearts, not with your heads. QUITE OBVIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!

Short-term win for BL. As I have previously stated on BF, I am happy for Brisbane to win the next two flags with Fev. Hope he gets his life sorted out. He needs a fresh start.

Medium to long-term win for Blues. I have always been a huge fan of Henderson. He will play 150-200 games for the Blues. Pick 12 ... well who knows? But pick 12 gives you a chance of landing a 200 game player too.

Glad the Carlton has once again underlined that it knows how to deal, without calling in mediators (Port) or having a public disagreement between president and recruiters (Hawks) or overrating your own stocks ridiculously (Pies).
