Which one of Fev's goals are you talking about? He kicked 9! The best two were:
a) the one from the boundary
b) The one in the the goal square where he did the soccer volley over his head.

In either case, both were better than Petrie's.

Fev's over his head is overrated. Not that hard to do, especcially if you play AFL and are reasonably flexible. Quick thinking but hardly goal of the year. His other shot from the boudary was much better. He showed great strength to brush off his oponent and whilst still being tackled and under pressure he managed to slot it from a long way out.

Much better IMO!

Having played a bit of soccer in my time, I think it's harder to do what Petrie did, hit it on the angle like that, with the ball coming over his shoulder, and a man holding him, but Fev's was a great goal too.

Petrie's goal far higher degree of difficulty.. ball coming in over his shoulder as opposed to fev's which was just coming straight towards him. If Fev's wins goal of the year it will be worse than the M Lloyd one of a couple of years back.

Petrie's volley goal was better than Fev's, but both contained a fair amount of sheer luck. FWIW, I think Adam Goodes' goal against Essendon on Saturday should be the leading contender for Goal of the Year (not that it will even rate a mention come decision time).

If Fevs "over the head" flick wins goal of the year, it will be a bigger disgrace then Matthew Lloyds a few years ago. His first goal shrugging the tackle was MUCH better and would be a worthy winner.

Anyone saying that Fev's goal over the head winning would be worse than Lloyd's must have rocks in their heads.

Let's not forget goal of the year usually goes to a gimmicky goal, and Fev's was the best so far this year.

i thought Petries was better, managing to volley a ball kicked from 60m away through the stick while pretty much being tackled and on an angle is not something that will happen for a while. Fev's was a good goal as well, but i wouldnt think it as hard to do.
