Developers hoping (obviously) to make FIFA 10 'even better' than FIFA 09 in their brand new blog in which they confirm that there will be a single player(and offline multiplayer) training mode introduced.

EA have released a developer blog, where David Rutter, Line Producer on FIFA 10, outlines the team's commitment to football and making FIFA 10 an even better game than the fantastic FIFA 09. It's a great insight into the areas the team are focusing on, and you can read it below. Rutter also confirms a multiplayer training mode for the game (local play only).

Aso the dev. blog talks about their main goals and how they are going about achieving them as well as going very in-depth about each new feature as well as some old frustrations that are looking at being fixed.

We’re really proud of FIFA 09. Quality wise the game was up there, but being football and football game fanatics we’re never satisfied. So with FIFA 10 we wanted to address 3 key things.

1- Refine our gameplay

2- Respond to feedback from our Fans

3- Innovate in some really cool ways.

About 70% of our effort went on the first 2 items, whilst the remaining 30% was spent on the very cool new innovations we have already revealed and others that we will be revealing in the coming months.

In Closing:
As I mentioned that’s about all I can talk about at the moment – and I know the guys here will be doing more in-depth blogs concerning their ‘features’ as the weeks and months go by. We’ll also be releasing more info on what’s going on regarding our other ‘unannounced features’ over the coming weeks too.

I’m looking forward to reading the feedback from this ‘blog’ and hope that you’re as excited about hearing this stuff, as we are making it

How good would it be if Fifa 15 or something had graphics that looked exactly like watching a game on tv?

We will probably be playing into 100-120inch plasmas.....passing it in the exact direction we want and have to stand up and can pass and shoot ourselves.

I want them to take away manual skill growth, assign kit numbers, your stadium gets bigger when you upgrade your stadium manager, more injuries, a more active and competitive transfer market.... bottom line is that manager mode is weak... and they need to beef it up.
Yeah custom team would be nice... it was very shallow in 07 though... or whenever they had it.

The one thing i want fixed in Fifa10 is being able to score from halfway at kickoff.

Im ranked around 60th and i tend to play players ranked in the top 200, but the players in the top 30 do it with ease..

They either score or the keeper tips it over for a corner, it makes you feel like shit when you work hard for a goal against good opposition and they score bullshit goals like that..

Takes the enjoyment out of the game..

This is one thing mentioned in the dev blog as one of the Frustrations they are going to stop.

Frustrations: I’m on the forums a lot, posting and reading. There are a lot of people who love the game, and there are a lot of people who discover, report or exploit things in our game that they’re unhappy with. So, we really want to make the people who have legitimate gripes happy, and the exploiters play fair. Some of the things we’re changing are:

1. Stopping lofted through balls leading to 1 on 1 with the keeper.
2. Preventing goals being scored from kick off

Nice. Thanks for that HBK.

The lofted through ball? Iv'e scored soo many goals with that it's not funny..

I think the lofted through ball one is debatable, i mean it's defendable if your smart, having quick centre backs help and reading it helps aswell..

Oh well, atleast i won't have ********s from Europe using that bullshit agian..

HBK has anything been mentioned about the EA Servers?

Im sure it has happened to many of us but i've been a victim of it on heaps of occasions, when your winning and it just loses connection but no-one gets the win..

I don't think it's got anything to do with my connection because i would get the loss.

And i know about the rule of being able to quit the game before 5 mins and no-one will get the win or loss, so i know why i don't get the win if someone quits before then..

I dunno, probably haven't played enough online to have this exploited a lot. But I can see how it would be an issue (Especially if someone was doing it almost every time). At the moment I think one of their fixes will be to have the GK be more agressive towards 1 on 1's.

Nothing been mentioned for online yet(If there is you can guarantee it will be put up here;)).

You don't need to tell me about those times when the connection drops (Cotch and I have it at least 2-3 times a session). A lot of the time it will be a stupid ****er quitting the game though (By pulling out their Ethernet cable therefore having a connection drop which doesn't give a result either way as it could be a genuine issue and it would be pretty rough to dock someone a win because of that if it was genuine), makes it insanely hard to get some trophies for winning games online.

Yes i understand the keeper issue, they need to be much more agressive. And something else which i have exploited from 09 is the chip, if you get close enough to the keeper and just tap L1 and Circle the keeper dives on the ground and you ca easily score, that needs to be fixed...

Very frustrating indeed.

Someone needs to tell EA that the nearly all of the players in the Top30 are cheaters. They all boost from previous ID's.

If it's obvious to me that they cheat when there sitting 21st having only played 100 games then why the **** do EA let them get away with it, it makes no sence to me..

I think its pretty obvious that EA dont really give a f*ck after they have released a game. Just look at the Sims 3. Its a good game, but has shit all content. And of course you have to buy all the extra stuff. Its all about the money. Much like charging $1.75 for a pack of cards in Ultimate Team

I'm not getting another Fifa game. They ALWAYS get a gameplay mechanic wrong, then they say they've fixed it but then something else goes wrong. Fifa 09 was the last chance I gave them and... it's an OK game, but with plenty of problems.

What they need to do HBK is start enforcing penalties such as host banning people and banning gamertags/IDs for those with connections that drop out say a couple of times each day.

I had this frustration when playing FIFA 08 and also have the same frustration with Halo 3 (Though it is different issues in that but still Bungie do nothing about it).

Of course the trailer is gonna look good... it's EA so everything is pretty but it won't mean much if the gameplay isn't up to scratch.

I mean last year they had that stupid crab walk thing.. how could that possibly get past testing??

I have PES 2009 for PC and FIFA 09 for PS3. Now I know PC games are usually crippled but PES actually did a good job with 2009.

I had heard from a lot of people 09 was where FIFA overtook PES in terms of gameplay, FIFA was always ahead in presentation and licensing. However I guess I'm too used to the PES gameplay because I can't get into FIFA. It's just so unnatural. You have silly mistakes, not being able easily cancel leaving players just standing there, unnatural dribble tricks whereas in PES if a move requires you to press towards the right the move will end up with you closer to the right while the tricks in FIFA is a crapshoot.
Other things piss me off like your teammates not reacting quickly to you losing the ball from a tackle, and your teammates getting in the way of your dribble. PES just has a more natural way of controlling how you dribble and a much better first touch system.
All FIFA have done since 03 or so is made it harder so it's not completely arcade like. I suppose defence has improved too.

The most disapointing thing was the graphics, sure they have billions of teams but the shirts are often weird looking, especially the numbers, and there is no use playing a licensed competition like the EPL if you can't make transfers.

Both management modes are crap. I'll give FIFA the win though quite easily. Other things PES wins hands down, i.e. the few teams and leagues that are licensed are spot on (and when a nation isn't licensed at least they try with fake names like Netherlands which has been a blackhole in FIFA series since 2002 world cup) tactics are spot on and more customisable and easier to sort and to change default tactics and squads.
