Just played my first game and wow! awesome game so far. alot slower than FIFA WC but still it looks the goods!:thumbsu:

Really having trouble with this new passing system.

Started with legendary and put it down a notch to world class ... only scored 1 goal in 6-7 games :@

Getting used to it....slowly. Ref's are pretty poor, the reactions are class :D
One things i noticed....When you're on the break the defenders catch up so easy. Anelka is pretty pacy and I was running from a defender (i think Cris from Lyon) and he caught up so easy, touched Anelka and got the ball. Even with Messi running on the wing I find people catch up too easy. Still like it though, forgive the bitching. :)

I'm only struggling with it because I'm playing it like every other FIFA game I think. Given I'm playing with Arsenal, the way to play in FIFA 11 is clearly slower, more methodical, and more based around a playmaker, in this case Fabregas.

I haven't scored many goals, but when I have, they've been class. My very first goal was started from a missed touch from Essien which fell to Arshavin just outside the area. He took one touch and belted it low, like a bullet, and across Cech into the back of the net. One of the most realistic goals I've ever seen in a FIFA game, and I was very impressed.

Celebrations are awesome too, EA have finally got them right.

Pro Passing works, makes you think and think quickly. Personality Plus works better than I had expected, really bringing the likes of Fabregas and Arshavin into their own. I can't wait to see how Timmy Cahill works in the box this year.

I haven't got uni today, so I'll be home and playing all day. I'll write a better wrap up tonight.

^^ Yeah, I agree with you, in that I feel both the personality of the players and the passing is much better than last year. I haven't played a single payer game yet, just two player, so I'll have to give that a shot today in order to see how the opposition AI plays.

Oh, and for the skill moves nuts among us, here's a video tutorial that goes through some of the new ones for this year:

Still no diving option?

I will buy this over PES because it's more popular online and because PES still hasn't improved much. Also because I haven't bought a FIFA game when it's come out. I still prefer PES controls (or at least older pes controls) much better especially for dribbling skills because they make sense.

A lot of FIFA tricks have to press in directions where the ball will not go at all.
PES dribbling is simpler, this is probably my biggest gripe on FIFA, the advanced moves are counter intuitive, almost like trying to pull off a Mortal Kombat fatality. FIFA has improved in all other areas over the last five years, although I still hate the sticky passing where often you will pass the wrong man, quite often a centre back under pressure (or even a defender between him and the ball) when trying to control the ball in the midfield. However that can happen in PES too, it's easier to cancel out of these sort of things.

The FIFA tricks are ridiculous really, very tough to pull off in the area let alone in a game. Even against some of the good players online I never saw them doing the tricks.

I am currently downloading both the FIFA and PES demos. Not sure if I will get to play tonight, might have to wait for the weekend.

I hope to god there is a harder level or something. Also wtf @ penalties it's garbage. The sound of every pass is a bit annoying.

Penalties are fantastic.

Anyone have trouble breaking the legendary mode defence? My games are ALWAYS 0-0

Played it a bit, feelsgoodman so far, downloading PES to see how it compares.

Been playing it since last week due to PS+ users getting it a week early,:D

I didn't like it at all. Gameplay graphics (not closeups) looked meh and moving the players seemed clunky (no 360 degree movement, I think?). No commentary either (or is Pro Evo always like this? Haven't played one for about 4-5 years). I quite liked the passing (especially that whoosh sound when you make a textbook pass

), it felt sturdy and rigid (the passing) but overall I hated the demo. Now to try the FIFA 10 demo.

played the PES demo the other day and couldn't stop laughing. It's actually terrible.

I think they had it implemented for last year? I mentioned in the demo play last year it didn't feel as if they'd implemented it, wouldn't honestly be surprised if it isn't full 360 degree movement.

They do have commentary, I do believe though that is generally only in the full game.

Ive won 3 games and drawn 5. All 1-0 or 0-0 games so far against the hardest difficulty...amazingly all my goals were headers, still yet to score with my feet

They have done a fantastic job with Arsenal. Theo, Arshavin and cesc movements are very life like.

FIFA was good, didn't kick a goal until penelties but it felt much better than FIFA 10 and then even better than the WC game, I like the camera view and wasn't actually going to buy the game because I will be playing 2K11, COD:BO and Internation Cricket 2010 when it comes out, but it looks like I will, the chants and all that stuff has got me interested

I have a feeling Be A Pro will benefit greatly with the slower pace of the game. Just playing around in the arena you can see what the positives will be from the slower pace as well as the new shooting animations and slightly heavier ball physics.

Enjoying playing as a GK in the Arena, although sometimes it feels as if the AI kicks in a bit much and I'm not exactly doing much at all, even though I know that stuff will be editable in the full game to give me more control.
