just getting in early, but if i miss out in the ballot again this year, id be more than happy to compensate someone who didnt..

that flyer in the mail got me just a bit excited. Here we goo...

When can we enter the 'ballot'? I was only a regional member last year so did not bother (not sure I could under that membership anyway).

I got a query hopefully some of you may be able to offer some advice from experiences last year.
Are you better off nominating for the ballot with two or more membership barcode numbers than doing say two individual entries?
And also do you think you are disadvantaged by not selecting standing room as an option?
Not getting ahead of myself, still a bit of work to do yet I realise.

I missed out on my MCC grand final reserved ticket. Looks like i will have to try and get a walk up on the day if we make it!

When can we enter the 'ballot'?

According to the mail out from the club, if we win our first final we can register on the following Wednesday, the 10th.

For normal members (ie. not September Member or social club) the lines open from midday on that day, from memory.

There is no difference in probability, only difference is if you submit individually there is no chance you will be sitting together.

My feeling is you get better odds with smaller numbers.
ie: There are less groups of 6 seats to be found than groups of 2 (or 1)

Only in that you will not be offered standing room when they do the second allocation pass.

Why don't you put down for standing room and I'll take it off your hands if you don't want it ;)

I just seem to remember last year that if one of the numbers didn't get selected in a group nomination then no one got a ticket from that group. Then later heard that preference was given to those who nominated in groups. Also heard that those who submitted a single number only got standing and that virtually no one singularly got a seat.
I was just trying to see if this was the case. Not a big deal. Will take what is on offer, if we get there of course.

If you missed out on being chosen in the ballot last year are you any better of this year or is it back to scratch for everyone??
Would be mighty annoyed if all the same lucky buggers got picked out again.

it would go back to scratch again. To much work and politics involved in doing it any other way.

Some people will just be unlucky (even more so this year as there are more members to take away your ticket from you).

If we win our first final, September Members need to register on the phone between 8am and 11am on September 10.

You provide your credit card details when registering (and they charge you $3 or so), then if/when we're confirmed as being in the Grand Final, they'll charge you for the ticket.

You can then pick up your tickets at any Ticketmaster outlet from 12pm on Monday September 22.

I got my mail out with all this information today, so you should get yours soon.

I just went for 1 ticket last year in the ballot (with the option of standing room) and missed out so not sure if that'll work in your favour. Ended up paying overs but certainly got my moneys worth on the big day.

God I better get a one through the ballot this year or else there may be some furniture smashing around my place........again

if ya miss out, go drinking near the mcg and try to get in at half time or 3 qtr time like we did last year. granted there were quite a few leaving due to the scoreline.

Just to question ticketing for next weeks match vs the crows...to narrow it down ticketing outlets outside online bookings !?
I'm coming down regardless of purchasing a tkt either way...but being on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland - the ticketmaster outlet up here is Rebel sport, now can i just go there Monday morning on opening time w all my membership details and get my ticket that way !? or do i have to still go online !?

I have a AFL Silver membership with Geelong Club Support. But I want to get a ticket for me and my girlfriend... I don't know how I can go about getting 2 tickets with the one membership. >_< :(

Did you get a GF ticket with your silver last year? I thought the allocation was exhausted by the gold members.
