Yeah, feel very flat after that. I don’t know about back to the bad old days but it wasn’t a good night - Swans were fresh and worked hard and were a well oiled machine. North were clunky and slow and messy most of the time. Last week’s comforting thought was that even if we aren’t good enough to beat good sides yet, we were much more competitive for much more of the game. This week there’s none of that solace. Doesn’t mean everything is shit any more than beating Melbourne meant everything was great - Sydney were the best team last H&A season and a lot of the reasons were out there tonight even if some players were missing.

Sheez worked his arse off and was kind of back. Not much else to be positive about.

I said Whitlock shouldn’t be picked yet and I do not understand the team selection choices this week at all. But pretty much everyone was down so not sure it made a difference.

I have been following this club since the 50's, member, shareholder, paving stone purchaser in the past but I sensed during that after a particular game last year that I was done with this rabble that is supposed to be representing this club. I now see a club that is bereft anything that resembles even the basics of a football club trying to get us out of the dire position that the club faces at the moment. Can any of our supporters describe the style of play that this side is using? We are currently being pummeled by a side missing 2 of its players in Papley and Gulden.
This club has the feelgood story of female President and CEO, feegood story , at the time of getting Clarkson and Viney in the revolutionize and educate a group of talented youngsters recently drafted. We, the long suffering supporters have been sold a lemon. We have no game style, cannot withstand pressure when applied and except for a 15 minute patch against Melbourne have shown 4/5ths of bugger all. All of these feelgood community projects that the club embarks on are fine but maybe it's time that we concentrate on bloody winning football games and stop all of the woke,feelgood crap.
This is the first time in over 30 years that I have not renewed my membership and it's sad it has come to this stage. The club has too many vanilla type players who are clogging our list and taking games from others who ceiling is much higher than those playing.
At the end of this season there must be a cleanout in the club, not only of underperforming players, line coaches , senior coach, selectors and anyone else is keeping the club in the doldrums.
I have been watching the way Hawthorn has adapted its style of play in 4 different sets of circumstances to overcome the opposition tactics, they seem to have plans A,B,C D,E and F, involving different players, different positioning and different speeds of play and it is great to watch. Hawthorn had drafted extremely well to get players to fill roles where they were previously deficient. North has primarily drafted the highest ranked midfielder available and this year topped up with 3 experienced players who are in the Twighlight of their careers. This week we dropped FOS but played, RHJ and Stephens, to a lesser extent, tucker, scott and zurharr. Gifting games to underperforming players is a blight on the coaching of this club.
It is high time that heads role, doesn't matter how high, we have a game upcoming for Good Friday, a fixture that the club strove for for many years but unless we show a much better performance this year, maybe it should be given to a more deserving club.
My last criticism is of the powers that be at the club selling our home games to WA, stop selling your soul for a dollar. Time to support the dwindling numbers of your Victorian supporters first.

It was definitely Sheezel's best game of the year but yeah, he was no where near his actual best. He's also not cut out as a full time midfielder.. His ceiling is half back with small stints in the middle and up forward.
