Brodie Grundy is such a campaigner. How we allowed him to towel us is disgraceful.
Xerri was campaignered by the umpires tonight.

Their officiating of the ruck contest was a ****ing joke to the point it was laughable. They were virtually umpiring Xerri out of the contest.

I ****ing hate early autopsy threads. Should be banned.

That said...

-Pink should have played.
-Phillips should have played.
-Logue needed to come back via VFL.
-Whitlock is not AFL-ready, especially if we brought him in to play as a KPD. Playing him was stupid.
-Larkeys laziness was in full effect tonight and it's the same shit I've been calling out for years.
-Powell, McKercher, Scott, Stephens, RHJ, and multiple others are ****ing turnstiles on defence/in transition and we cannot afford to play them all.
-Tonight was proof that the "play an extra tall!" tactic is absolutely flipping stupid because we do not have the defensively-minded midfield/wing/flankers required to spread and defend to accommodate the lack of pace playing an extra tall saps.
-Im not sure if we were ever a chance to win this game, but we eroded all hope at the selection table.
Agree on bold if playing him as KPD, should have been played as the extra but we can't because we have Comben and he can only do that role. I was very surprised we didn't have Hardeman start the game. He might be young in terms of games but has played all his football as a small / mid defender - so let him do it when we are crying out for one. Instead we put Tucker out there and struggle to hit a useful target.

Crowd was a positive.

Was it though?

There were more Sydney fans there than North fans. I'd say it was 40/60 North/Swans.

In a prime-time game that North fans were reasonably confident going into (hilarious in hindsight ofc), I thought our crowd showing was actually pretty poor tonight.

It was a very good crowd.

P.S. Maybe, the reason it looked 40/60 was because so many North people left during the third quarter. There were droves of supporters outside Marvel - with me. So sad.

You liked the game plan, skill level and ball movement? Yikes!
It wasn’t the only difference but it is absolutely the cornerstone on which Sydney built the win.

They worked hard with and without the ball.

We were no where near matching them in either.

Throughly disappointing.

Game plan, skill level and ball movement was all shocking due to work rate. They spread the field while we jogged after them. Two mins into our forwards are asking to bomb long down the line. Our fumbles were due to being 2/1 at every contested ball. Our backs don’t work to get space on D50 exits. Larkey and Bull just flailing around looking for frees instead of leading once, twice, three times. Their FWDs taking uncontested marks I50 cos we don’t push back hard enough on turn over.

Bad skills are manageable if we get the 2/1 at every contest. We don’t cos we’re a bunch of lazy players who don’t work hard enough either in defence or offence.

Even in the Crows and Dogs losses we picked up work rate and got back into it. Tonight we didn’t from the get go.

Like all of us I'm completely sick and tired of losing with seemingly no end in sight.

It cannot continue any longer.

What do we do as a club to make effective and quantifiable change in the short to medium term?
Serious change is needed. A broom has to go through club.
Needs a major shake up.

We did battle until just before halftime. Then, we completely imploded.

Very very disappointing night. I could literally write an essay on what is wrong with this team... So I'll just jump to the most disappointing moment of this game:

3rd quarter: Heeney gets the ball in the centre, runs sideways and for the 1st time all night we must have had their forwards covered, so he dawdles around with it. Cam Zurhaar runs up from behind and could literally do anything to him, since Heeney had no idea he was there... and... ugh, I don't even know how to explain what happened next, other than maybe say "absolutely fn nothing".

Maybe they call him "Bull" for a reason:

Yep, have seen a few pot him which is just lazy, sheep-following crap.

He was one of the few winners tonight. One clanger from 18 touches. Ran his guts out.
where is the problem? I agree Stephens was good in the early half, tucker was good all night.. of the usual scapegoats. I'd say that RHJ was rubbish, Whitlock and Logue was too early, and should be straight out for a run in the 2s. Where are we falling down? It seems that they owned us in the centre corridor again. WHere does that blame lie?

I'm not taking Zurhaar or Larkey either. THey are forwards and do the job very well when we can get it in there.

Expected the usual cope in here so I'm actually quite surprised how resoundingly somber it is.

Should we have won that game? Nah
Could we have won that game? Yeah
Should we have lost that game the way we did? **** no

We totally gave up in the first 5 minutes of the 3rd quarter. On top in virtually every stat at HT bar inside 50's which we were only down by about 2, and then we come out and dish up that bullshit. We just make it so bloody easy, even my mate I was with who rarely goes to the footy was remarking to me how ****ing lazy our midfield was

Guess we knew better then 😏

My old man got me to follow north at a young age. I’m going to his house tomorrow to fight him in front of my mum. I need someone to blame, and it’s him.
Sorry bud. I've inflicted north upon my kids too. Was hopeful that we'd be flying by the time they were old enough to really care, but looking more and more like child abuse by the day.
