No you don't understand Mark - every time someone beats, or give Brisbane a run for their money it's the Lions being slow, or undremanned, or tired...

Better to show up undermanned, slow and tired to a coast to coast travel game, than drive a few k's down the road to a GF and leave your heart in your jock's drawer when you packed your match bag.

Both sides can play a lot better but injuries did hurt Brisbane immensely. Also Freo has a few players taht will get better as the season goes on.
I had a laugh at the post wrap interview with Haselby.
He said this Friday nights game against Essendon is the biggest in the clubs history and the first time in his time that Fremantle have been on the Friday night stage and said it might even be the first ever game Freo has played on a Friday night.
I was sure that Essendon played Freo in there first final last year on a Friday night, I must be wrong.

Yeah your right.

It's not uncommon for Freo to bring out the "biggest game in the clubs history" line. The St. Kilda game was also the biggest I believe. The biggest game in Freo's history was the final against Essendon last year, until they have another final, this won't change.

Great win today though btw, Medhurst made up for being MIA for a month.

I guess I must have been at a different game then, I was sure I was holding up the banner for a game against Freo, damn wonder who we were playing then.

Probably says more about Freo.

What does that say about you guys then that somehow got home by 3 points against an injury depleted Brisbane with Bradshaw out before the game, Leppitsch injured and one other injury which I've forgotten

We played well today. We dominated the first half as well, just couldn't convert it on the scoreboard.

[BI'm amazed and proud that the Lions are only 6 goals down with 11 minutes to go. Aker and Power have been amazing today. [/B]

How can u be proud when your team is 6 goals down?????? Unless they were 20 goals down earlier there is no way I can see how u can be proud.

Classic Kenny.

Now I strongly doubt you think the Eagles are in Fremantle's class (and everyone knows that anyway), so what do you gain by "point scoring" on the obvious...

I don't know what's less surprising, you bringing up the Eagles or 4 posters reacting to whatever Mark Viduka posts. The bloke must love it.

Lions had Brown, Charman, Michael, Caracella that day. Probably more i can't remember. That was the most depleted Lions side i've ever seen. Credit where it's due though, Freo actually played very well today.

If that's the case then using your logic West Coast haven't played a good game since the game at the GABBA

Are you the same Mark Viduka that doesn't give a toss about any team he plays for, thinking he is bigger than the game itself?

I did'nt see it but was told they were pretty good. 137 points, could'nt have been that bad.

Where were you last night Dooks. Not wearing the green and gold anymore?

First division anyone?

I could name 3 losses we have had where we have played better than any of your games you have played this year.

Freo played well today. I doubt your statement.

Port loss was ok. Essendon loss was a great game but you don't play well and give away an 8 goal advantage. Carlton loss.. forget it. Derby? We won that, scratch it. Melbourne? nope.

Prove me wrong, doubt you can.

Amazing what a change of gameplan and kicking straighter can do.

...along with a half dead team with half it's senior team missing as your opposition.

Congratulations on your win.........see you later on in the year, oh hang on, Fremantle don't come up to Brisbane, actually Fremantle haven't made the trip to Brisbane for years.

Fremantle don't make the trip to Brisbane, but Brisbane have to travel to Perth twice all within a couple of weeks of each other.

Anyway, good luck with the rest of the year

ROFLMAO!!!

Put the tosser back in his box. He has been awfully quiet ;)

And pulling out the 'injuries is no excuse when its Collingwood, poor me, shower me with pity' rubbish was the funniest thing I've read. As well as CJ's it isn't an excuse.

The worst part yesterday was the realisation that we had 2 fit players over 190cms yesterday. Pike and Leppitsch.

Take that quality of player and fill their positions with back-up players. Then travel 4 weeks out of 6, with 2 being to Perth... Hit an in-form Freo who played their best game of the year. (BTW... Viduka... where are West Coast on the ladder? )

Makes life difficult.

Not a full excuse. We had 20 fit professional football players for 3/4s of the game. We got rolled by the better team.

But having said that, given the circumstances, most teams could have beaten us yesterday.

I have a soft spot for Freo, and its good to see them playing a brand of footy that is far better than they have pulled out all year.. BUT WHY US!!! :D If Freo can build from that win, they are a good show next week.
