We already have one confirmed change from the BCC plan, other than Olympic venues. The golf complex is being completely removed. Sounds like the new Urban Pump Track in the North West corner of the park will be kept too.
That pump track is fairly isolated but still connected to the park via walkway and steps
I can't see any reason why it would not be retained

For those that don't know what a pump track is and where it's located - Red lines approximate

That is a flash setup, this morning we went that way leaving the park, first time I have been that end of the park in decades, walked until we got to Kelvin Grove Rd and then back across Grey St bridge to Southbank, we entered way up the other end, across the road from the old museum after crossing the river over the Storey Bridge. The city, Kangaroo point cliffs and the river look magical at 5am in the morning.

Once you have walked around the whole Victoria Park setup you can see why it will be great for crowd dispersal.

My daughter came with me, credit to her for the photo and the thingamebob that tracks your route and distance, it was a lovely walk. I rarely drink, last time was 1 Guinness out for dinner before last years GF.

Great photo , pretty at that time of morning.
13 kms yes that’s great exercise
Are you preparing for a hiking/ walking holiday
We did a few city walks, probably around a couple hours worth for training once.
Victoria park would of been perfect cause we were training for the West Highland Way walk 150 kms
Never again
Apparently they have cars in Scotland.

can anyone easily prepare a side by side (same scale) of MCG precinct, optus burswood precinct and victoria park precinct? to get a feel for the overall space (noting the waaay different topography in each case)
Ignore the very poor paint outline but these are the outlines of the parks the MCG (Yarra), Optus (Burswood), and new Brisbane Stadium (Vic/Barrambin) sit within.

I'm desperate for another multi day hiking getaway but I have a hernia ATM and don't want to get stranded in the bush if it happens to go bad, if they strangulate I have been told the pain is next level... on a waiting list for surgery.

Just some information with ticketing, LA are doing a presale to local area currently on now a week before the rest of the ballot happens, Its the same system for the presale, pre register then wait for your timeslot to buy tickets.

I would assume something similar will happen for Brisbane

Needs scales though

A new stadium in Nashville expected to open in 2027. Cost mentioned converted to Australian dollars is $3.2 billion.
Similar to Brisbane in a few ways.
Costs, old stadium costing more to renovate than building a new one, 60k capacity but will have a roof due to weather.

They mention exterior terraces on the upper concourse (VP will also have). Apparently, they are not usually great for NFL stadiums

The first video i skipped the first 4 minutes as mostly not relevant including a long add. Also skip the roof bit is you want.

The 2nd video is 1 day old and the prices mentioned are crazy especially when converting to Australian dollars.
The 2nd level already sold out (no price mentioned)
When Victoria Park stadium opens i am hoping the Lions membership will be cheaper (allowing for CPI) in a lot of cases with dearer seating also available.

Because it was a golf course, the space between the park and QUT was always a hard boundary. Now that it’s going to be a legitimate park with excellent connectivity, the new QUT Master Plan emphasises reorienting the university to make the park a major gateway.

They have to be careful not to give away any of the park secrets, but there certainly look to be multiple paths out of the university directly over the busway. Almost like they would connect to upper levels of some sort of large structure in that area of the park or something.

And those connections will be used back the other way to get people in and out of the park from events, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if buses arrived and departed from special event day stops within the campus to help them on their way.

Nearly all events will be outside university peak times, those streets will be virtually empty otherwise, so I think it could be almost a perfect buffer zone to help manage and distribute the crowds.

I was just in the US and spent a few days in Nashville.

On my last trip in 2018 i actually stayed at a hotel next to NISSAN Stadium.

Was great to see the progress made on the new one and that once the old one is demolished that land is being given back to the city for revelopment to make 1000+ units for housing and the creation of the Music City Mile — a raised, pedestrian-oriented thoroughfare lined with retail, allowing visitors to move throughout the neighborhood without encountering vehicle traffic and creating a unique, engaging pedestrian experience.

Read something somewhere recently where someone said ALP figures knew Miles' QSAC plan was as much of an election gambit as the LNP's "no new stadiums" line.
Gosh, isn't democracy fun when both major parties are deliberately telling barefaced lies?

Geez, that's pretty roughly done. I'm not really paying much attention to these kinds of images. Who knows where they've come from.
I'm not certain where Brisbane Times is getting these renders from honestly. In the article the source they give is just "Queensland Government" and the thumbnail on the Facebook/Instagram video isn't mentioned in the article or video.
Hopefully a sign that we're getting the draft masterplan soon.

I walked around Victoria Park today. What a scam! Lungs of the city my arse. There is practically no shade. The slopes are so hilly, My Pomeranian would need its shoulder strapped up like Jarrod Berry just to play fetch. A classic Campbell Newman scam trying to sell this dross as usable green space. The whole park is rubbish and barely usable.

Yes get it fixed .
Just had a a hernia operation on March the 18th.
Key hole surgery .
Back at work today , but am told not to lift anything more than 6kg for 6 weeks after the op.
Ingunial Hernia, wasn't really giving me grief, but as I still go to the gym and pick up heavy things at work, it was getting agrivated so opted to talk to the surgeon. Mind you I reckon I've had it for a few years.
Told me about the risk of leaving it so opted to go ahead.
He also told me I had an imbilical hernia, which I had no idea of, but could also fix while he's at it. sweet.
Feeling pretty good now, not 100% , but always getting better as the days go.
Guts were pretty sore . You'll find out.
anyway , Hey you'll be right.
I have private health cover and it cost me out of pocket $1500.

Sounds exactly like my situation, mine is Inguinal too. Also been around for a while(18 months at least)I just thought it was a bulging artery because I am so skinny, I also continue to lift weights at Pilates and Kettlebell classes. No way I am sitting around doing nothing for that long, if it strangulates I'll be off to the emergency ward.

The only time I have had a bit of a twinge of pain was when they did the Ultrasound. I am going Public, I got a letter recently to say I was Category 2, which means I should be seen within 90 days.

Sounds good.
I was still doing crunches up until 4 months ago .
Hmm , probably shouldn't be doing that at 61
I also forgot to mention the schooners on Thursday night at the game was for medicinal purposes only lol.
Took it easy, don't worry.
