I have heard that the eagles players are a bit unhappy with Woosha's game plan, and that in the first half of the Derby they were 'avoiding' the plan by kicking longer to contests instead of hand-balling till your teammate is free.

Has anyone heard this?

big news. i wouldnt be surprised if it were true..something has to give.

we should get kevin sheedy to act as a tactical advisor/ tactical teacher for woosha. We really need help with our basic gameplan as well as our more specific structures such as the forward line and our contingency plans

I've always been under the impression that the players respect Woosha very much. I can't really see that happening. Sure, perhaps the game plan hasn't evolved to suit the players we have but give it time because technically the bulk of the team is the same as we had last year. I personally think it's more individual form that is causing us problems. There were signs in all 3 games so far when our players start hitting up targets that we have that awesome look about us again. They just need to do it for four quarters!

Doubt it. They're all adults, if they have a problem with the game plan, they should all go to the coaching staff and voice their opinion. I'm sure if enough people spoke out, they would make changes to it.

I heard Harris say on the radio the other day that there had never been a directive to the players to hand ball more than kick. Surprising.

I dont think there would be a team plan to over ride the game plan, for a start it is pretty obvious that they aren't doing as directed.

Secondly, if they reverted to the game plan in the second half, it just shows that it works as they played better in the second half than the first. They lost the game in the second quarter.

Have heard or made up?

I did notice we weren't as handball happy in the 1st half. If it was indeed the players making a stance against the game plan then they really got a nice lesson by being pantsed by the Dockers.

Somehow I doubt it. By all accounts Woosha is very highly respected by the players, so this sort of dissent is unimaginable IMO.

I don't know if you've ever played seniors football for your local club, but speaking up or complaining about the coaching is a sure fire way to get yourself dropped. I don't imagine any player would have the guts to say anything to the coaches, even if players do whinge or complain amongst each other.

It would not surprise me to see dissent in the ranks. They have watched Cousins and Chick delisted and all players humiliated by Club and AFL reviews and media activity. And recenly the CEO publicly criticised them. All this will take time to heal. The CEO should pull his head in as he was responsible for a lot of it.

Haven't played since school. Just seemed a little childish to me to be honest. If the leadership group went up to Woosha and said they wanted to start playing more long and direct, I'm sure Woosh would take that onboard.

He would, this is a professional league and woosha will take his players thoughts on board.

I actually heard this today. In Particular, with regards to chad fletcher. He isnt happy at all at being played at half forward. He claims that none of the midfielders know their exact roles and some are unhappy.

I cant say exactly who told me , im sorry... and i know its vague. but its 100% accurate.

I hate Fletcher being played on the HFF one of my biggest criticisms of Worsfold. Play him right in the centre square.
