Get your secateurs and use the blade to lightly scrape away a small section of bark on the thicker woody bit. If it is green underneath cut them back, keep them wet and cross your fingers and toes. If it is dry pull them out and replant when the hot weather is over. Beerfish same applies.
Yep. Have done that. At the seeing how it goes stage now..Cut off all the dead foliage and if there’s anything green left take care of it and see how it goes

They've still got life. If you are keen...get some wetting agent and apply around them and water it in...it should go soapy. Then when you water it will go in deeply istead of just wetting the very top. Apply mulch if you want and watch them go.Yep. Have done that. At the seeing how it goes stage now..

Damn.I have $150 worth of lilly pillies in the ground that were going great before Christmas but now look like that.
Hmm alright, will try that tomorrow. I have been watering it regularly. I gave it a little trim today but left a lot on still.Get your secateurs and use the blade to lightly scrape away a small section of bark on the thicker woody bit. They are tough...when they are established, so fingers crossed.Damn.
This is a moruya and they line our back fence, the rest are fine, it's only this one.

I was just gonna buy a new one. Shits me to tears seeing it dead and the rest are fine.
remove 2 thirds if there is greenShould I trim it a lot, or leave as is?
I gathered that, but it's good information for most people.I was being facetious.
My full sun plants mostly went in autumn 2020 so have had two winters of rain and two springs of growth prior to our recent 4 x 40 stint.

Yeah mate...every chance. Remove 2/3rds. Maybe apply some wetting agent and some sea sol and keep wet. New buds might form on the thicker bit. If nothing happens do that test again in 2 or 3 weeks and if it has dried out it's dead, if it's still green be patient. But good luck with it.I was asking a legitimate question lol

If we get a colder patch...or it gets wet from rain, no need to water if the soil is still damp. I used to work in a nursery and as stupid as this sounds we used to say as many plants die from over watering as plants that dry out (it rots the roots so they cant take water up).OK, I will give it a good trim.
I'll chuck some seasol on over the weekend and see how I go.
I have been watering steadily every day for the past week.
