Has the volume of crowd support gone up.

Having watched both finals on TV … I get the feeling our crowd is starting to show the benifit of 20 years of finals participation and a good level of success.

The Geelong chant seemed very strong at times last night. To the point of the post goal sonegs almost being inaudible..

Anyone at the ground conform that
Dangerfield says yes.

Haven’t watched the replay yet but live at the ground I felt Stengle was one of the most important players in turning momentum our way in the last 10 mins before half time. Super clean and creative. And then his finishing in the second half was just deadly.

So rapt for him after he played arguably his worst game for us in last year’s prelim. Hope he can replicate his 22 GF on the biggest stage again next week.
He was on and clean

Last year Mannagh and Chicken were rubbish, and young Shaun was a liability early when we were under the pump
Jye was another to surprise but needs to clean up his kicking

Time for the AFL to bring in Red Cards
Two games we have gone done a player in the first quarter against the hawks because of inappropriate actions by their scum players. The suspensions dont help the game the players are in. Chol was looking to take legs out, the tackles on Danger and Smith were ridiculous. And if the maggots paid frees against Mac and Guthire v Lions, then the dumps of Danger and Smith were ridiculous

FFS the afl is cooked

I watched the replay on the big screen and not sure there really was much of a push - at least not compared with other incidents that weren't called
I thought Gunston did infringe there - but ordinarily Henry would have had the strength to resist it. But with his dodgy ankle there was no strong opposite push so he hit the deck easily and made it look worse.

That was my impression also. It was a touch soft but you can't say it wasn't there.

THIS!!!!!

How bloody good were the Cats fans last night? The atmosphere was AMAZING, we've levelled up as a supporter base IMO this finals series, and I loved that both Danger and Jez have shouted it out. The volume level is like nothing I've heard from our supporter base, I know a lot of people think intangibles like that don't make much difference, but I think it adds a lot.

Let's hope Henry is ok and plays at the level required next week.

Henry + Stewart out of the backline is worrying (although we can still possibly handle it, but it's not optimal).

Martin also a calf concern they said.

Stanley hasn't played for a few weeks.

Depth could be tested... We know CS doesn't like taking injured players into GF's.

If Stewart + Henry were both playing and 100%... I'd think nobody could stop us, but that's not happening.

So... in 2022 Danger was good without being outstanding in the QF, AMAZING in the PF and almost team on the back kind of effort, then in the Grand Final was equal BOG with a bloke called Smith who we brought in from another club on the way to a brilliant flag....
So far in 2025 Danger was good but not brilliant in the QF, simply all time great final in the PF and about to play a GF with another outstanding team-mate called Smith who we brought in from another club...

Honest opinion. Probably goes along with the success he has had… He sort of in that realm of Mathews or someone like that is just so competitive that he doesn't care how he looks. He is a bomb Dresden type of guy…his attitude is you do what you have to do to win. Can you taper than after a game. Maybe. Pretty hard to put on a mask when you have just had you heart ripped apart and stomped on by the Moggs Marauder
Sorry but there is no excuse for being an arseh*le when you are publicly representing your club. He was a great player, is a very good coach, but he is a total dick of a human if this is how he is going to behave.

Like we didn't like the Adelaide Crows's lawfare to whittle down the homophobic slur ruling, it would be short-sighted for the GFC to challenge the concussion protocol.

There will be many such talented players and many such premiership opportunities for us in the future. We can't compromise our 166 year old institution's integrity & reputation over what is a silent and deadly killer.

Did Stewy actually fail the concussion test? He was obviously concussed from the footage. That is the only loophole you will have.

Disclaimer: I'm not a lawyer.
First and foremost, don't **** with CTE. I grew up watching the first known casualty, Mike Webster. A devastatingly sad end for a man's man.
Stewart took a long time to return after his last concussion. That is reason enough to be extra-cautious and not just do the minimum. If it were H/A now, I wouldn't bring him back until he was at 100% full speed in match sims. He wasn't that when he came back last time. IMO.

In the end we won, so it doesn't matter and this is honestly quite petty. But I do have to say this:

It was our home game yes?

So why did the Hawks enter the ground with a grand fireworks entry?

Why, after Hawthorn kicked a goal, was the screens around the ground lit up in Hawks colours with their "make a noise" rubbish or whatever it was?

Pisses me off.

It may have been what the Clubs thought necessary and appropriate to pay for. So their fireworks fizzled and we'll get the full monty next week. I did wonder why they entered first, but I'm not familiar with the protocol.
And I'd rather have a replay of our goal than BS urgings to flog a dead horse.

Patrick Dangerfield is a generational player and somehow still underrated. He is every bit the class of Buddy, Dusty, Fyfe and dare I say it, our lord and saviour Jr. It's so affirming to see him do what he does, even at 36. I hope he can get the Norm Smith next week, I don't think he will care and it will not define him, but he deserves the recognition. That game tonight was something else.
When sometimes I have reveries about getting an NFL running back, teaching him how to kick and letting him loose....Dangerfield is about as close a physical specimen as there is; a package of raw power and speed.
But the real cherry on top is that incredibly willpower and focus.

He is miles ahead of Dusty, ahead of Fyfe (due to injury) but clearly behind Ablett and Buddy. So well managed as well to prime him for finals. Credit to the coaching staff

I dont see the issue personally. I liked his honesty. Coaches say too much politician crap to the media now a days.
Some of us value losing graciously.

Very glad we have the best in the business at Geelong rather than that trash.

At the lions game I saw him close up and was surprised how tall he is, he looks like he has the frame to build that size on. We forget that Atkins didn’t get drafted until he was 23 and then took 4 seasons to find his place.
I think Clark will be a beauty and his composure, will and quick thinking in a big game (aside from one howler) was exceptional
I was surprised to hear earlier this year that he's a bit bigger that Rowell.

I had the darl beside me watching the game, she was keen for us to atone her loss from last week. That first quarter, I was getting a little cantankerous.

So, the lovely did a solid for us, she said, "I'm a bad omen, I'm going to clean the kitchen and see of that helps." Legit, thirty seconds later, we kicked our first goal.

I almost jinxed us. You-know-who can be thanked for leaving the lounge room and unjinxing my jinx! 😅
My son dragged his little sister out of the lounge room as every time thing she tried to watch the game Hawks goaled.....
