Out of interest.....

I spent yesterday morning (Ireland time) sitting on a bench on the banks of the Shannon River, iPad on my knee, following the Cats/Doggies game in real time.

I'd like a roll call of the Geelong faithfully, scattered worldwide, to report in from wherever they are - where are you and how do you follow the game & team news?

Go Cats

I live in South America and watch the footy when the time is suitable online at liveafl.tv, if not just check the scores. When I'm working overseas I will just check the scores on afl.com.au

I live in Seattle and have made Cats supporters of my wife, father-in-law, and a few of our friends.

Last year leading up to the GF my father-in-law was calling me up every second day asking 'Is Stevie J good to go?' 'How's Stevie J?!'

I even drive a blue Ford Ranchero (ute) with a Geelong bumper sticker and scarf in the back. The locals have no idea.

I watched last years grand final in a pub in New York.
About 20 aussies sat in front of a big screen and pretty much everyone was a Cats supporter. We did recruit a few septics on the night.
Great memories

Live in LA. Been here 12 years and nearly done.

Watch AFLIVE.TV of FOX SOCCER PLUS(if Geelong game) and listen to KROCK religiously regardless of work and time commitments. Often hear me Tweeting them on KROCK and I'm in the game day room too.

Often means 2 am game time with an hour of pre game and an hour post....

Wins make it easy but shit the losses hurt at about midday the next day....

And I'm pretty sure I'm the only person ever to hold a Grammy wearing anything Geelong!

(although I did give Eric Bana a serve at the Oscars in 2010 when he fronted up.. Cheeky bastard I am..... He took it well... kinda.... :)!
GO Catters..

When in international waters I make do with whatever equipment I have at my disposal.

The most memorable game was convincing a submarine captain the importance of the 2007GF for crew morale that we were able to surface and get a live satellite link. It was at the end of a really ordinary period and then so much happiness. Electronics techs on deployment are always the most important come finals time. It helps when the hierarchy are passionate supporters.

I live in the Kansai region of Japan. I'm the president of the Osaka Dingoes FC and I'm always trying to convert people to football.

Not a member, but don't miss a game. I stream games through the AFL website and try to keep up to date with what's going on in the football world. I watched the Dogs game with about 10 other people at a venue in Kobe.

Pretty impressive on a Collins....

...sorry - couldn't help myself :p

What a brilliant thread.

I am in Geneva, Switzerland and have been since 2006...and will be for a while yet. I follow ALL AFL religiously and the Cats fanatically. LIVEAFL.TV is my link to Aussieness in the southern hemisphere winter months....and when the winter hits here I hit the slopes and ski my butt off. ( The Swiss now know the meaning of " get out of the ****ing way!!!)

I enjoy BF and (almost ) all of the people in it, especially the Cat board. It's my cultural oasis in the somewhat xenophobic world of Europe.

I miss the ocean.....and the buzz of KP or the MCG before a BIG game.

Go you Mighty Cats.

I'm living in Malaysia for a few more years before my return to Oz. Unfortunately I can't get the live streaming service, not available to this country

On the brighter side, Australia Network channel shows most AFL games on the cable TV here. Shame its not in HD though.

NYC. Usually live on the paid membership. Or media blackout and watch the replay the following day which is hard but not as hard as scrounging for illegal live torrents used to be.
Go Cats.

In Ontario, Canada.

Crawled out of bed at 5:30am to watch the first half of the game Friday night against the Bulldogs on TSN2.

Went to work and watched the second half via stream.

Will also pick up the odd torrent.

In London. Been here since 09 and no plans on coming home yet. Try and watch every game on livesport.tv (when it works!) or download a torrent and watch that night.

The most frustrating game this year was trying to watch the Cats / Hawks game over wifi in a small hotel on the Italian coast. kept cutting out every 30secs!

Also hate Friday night games as can only check the score on the HS website at woek.

Highlight would have to be 09. Was at a pub in Fulham. As my username suggests I get mistaken for Chappy a bit so when he won the Norm Smith I beacme the bar mascot and didn't have to buy a drink for the rest of the day. Super day.

Have no doubt I'll be getting up at 4am to watch the cats again this year.

I live in London, been here since we won pre-season cup in 06. Missed a few good live games but I rarely miss a game on the Internet. I love Friday nights the best when I book out a meeting room and watch on the iPad. I have even been praised by colleagues for setting aside time once a month on a Friday for, er, brainstorming.

I have watched Geelong in some crazy places to feed this addiction, I always find a way.

Lived out a recurring nightmare last year when a work trip to New York ended in delay at Newark airport meant I flew over the Atlantic during Prelim. I spent usd50 on inflight calls to my father.

Bloody insane.

I am moving back to Melbourne later this year.

Yes...I can see that. Amazing resemblance :)

I'm in Atlanta, have been for over eight years now. I used to use liveafl.tv but am now resorting to the radio and other methods since I was recently laid off and trying not to be extravagant. Still keeping some awful hours to watch the footy, and for the most part I've been successful. At least the GF has been televised recently!

My understanding is that while Malaysia isn't listed as one of the available countries is that some of the guys in Malaysia have had success with streaming footy though http://www.afl.livesport.tv/. It is $100 / year for a subscription so shouldn't break the bank if you want to give it a go (there is a monthly subscription also for a trial period :))
