So many are worried because of the QF and fair enough but we were nowhere near our best and carried a completely useless Sam Day who literally gave up. We won’t have either problem tomorrow. Geelong are not as good as everyone makes out and we are defending champions for a reason.

So much talk to about risking Neale…how does everyone ignore Geelong are doing basically the same thing? Somehow a terrible risk to us but totally fine for them. Neale only needs to get up to one game, we know how crazy good he can still play through injury and he only needs to get through one game this time.

Our kids will not get dominated like that again and that’s where it will be won and lost. Also, Geelong kept going early to spoil our kick mark target, don’t be surprised to see us picking in behind and changing targets often, it will run them ragged.

Get ready to back to back premiers Lions fans.

Well, it's been explained (Bucks did a really good job in one of the programs I think) that cats send their lesser lights who do mostly tagging / negating to the inside congestion and thereby limit oppositions's prime moves. In turn they leave their clean ball users on the outside like Smith and Holmes.

We've had a good look at so far both from our midfield being limited perspective as well as them waltzing away on the outside. I'm sure we'll come in with plans - which would start from ruck contest and where we want to hit it, followed by how our forwards like Cameron run up to pressure / tackle the outside players of Geelong and so on.

We'll come with our planning this time, Geelong will have their plans like Blicavs to Andrews possibly. In a biased way I'll give us the advantage and say Fagan & crew usually plan better once they've seen the tactics and how they can be beaten.

Whoever manages to execute well for longer periods on the day will get the cup. Fingers crossed for us.
I wouldn’t exactly call Smith a clean ball user. When I see him with the ball about to kick it I feel pretty good about getting the ball back.

My fear and it hasn't changed since the final siren on Saturday night is that this is one game too many for the Lions ... but Geelong just look so primed to get the flag they probably feel they should have won last year. I do believe whoever wins will do so by around 20 points. I hope I'm wrong in believing Geelong will prevail.

Perhaps you're trying to find reasons to be pessimistic.
What we saw in the prelim was not a banged up, fatigued side limping in to the Grand Final.
The Lions ran the pies off their legs and were powering away in the 2nd half.

Half our team are kids. They looked fresh as daisies.
Keeping a lid on them is probably more to the point than having to try and get them up one more time. Go ask Motty, Levi, Sam and Ty if they reckon they've got another game in them.
We're just as primed as they are.

With all the reading on here about the teams I missed completely the Geelong player(s) under an injury cloud selected anyway ... who are we talking (or not talking about) here?

Was listening to Browny’s podcast and he referenced he was speaking to Lethal the other day, who reminded him what they did to Collingwood in ‘03 after they were beaten in the qualifier by them.

And as a coach, losing that game felt like it made him better prepared for the grand final rematch. Don’t underestimate what we would have learnt out of that. Individually, tactically and structurally.

Will be watching intently the tagging role Mullins is playing on Hugh. The other week on AFL 360 they showed snippets of Hugh's game where out of 3 of the packages that were showed, Mullins had his arms around Hugh's waist on one of them at a ball up and in the other one it showed Mullins holding onto Hugh's arm when trying to run through the congestion.Nothing payed. The AFL 360 guys never mentioned anything of Mullins tactics. Im sure the taggers try and hold on purpose and the feeling is if the umpires dont pick up on it, well i will keep doing it. Lets hope all the umpires are focussing on this stuff on Saturday.
It’s not in Fages’ MO to do so, but it wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world to throw this subtlety into the pregame presser today, just to put a bit of pressure back onto the umpires.

We don’t have lesser lights.

Lachie Neale on SEN right now.

"Can you get through four quarters?"
LN: "Yes. Whether I will or not, I'm not sure"

LN: "I hit my top speed for the year yesterday".

So what is the GOAT going to do with Blicavs?

Will he get a specific role or will it be his using wing/relief ruck role?

They don't need his height down back and I'm not sure they'll want to play taller in the forward line

Caroline Wilson has a partner?

What a strange thing to say.

Are you passive aggressively trying to say she doesn't deserve a partner? Or you don't think she attractive therefore noone else would because you are an arbitrator of taste?

Watching this is therapeutic.

Just watched the pre-game presser, and I'm reminded that I actually really like Chris Scott 😋

Cal, Marshall and Levi the wing rotations?

Bit worried about Levi defensively and Marshall to a lesser extent so hoping Cal is opposed to Dempsey as much as possible. Maybe the fresh Reville then goes to him unless we have an injury
