He had zero disposals in both the 1st and 3rd quarters. Don't know how he adds dash when he doesn't even touch the ball. Send him back to the vfl.

Bews is a statistical conundrum as the less possessions he accrues, the better our defensive unit functions.

Basically he is there to negate and because he is a liability with ball in hand you will never see him being a preferred option to run the ball out of defence. He's a break glass type of player and used as a conduit out of defence only in emergencies.

You can be rest assured he will never be used for kick-ins to pad out his stats!

Nevertheless, he doesn't bring enough to the table for mine and is no more than a good VFL player. Jed is not dissimilar to Taylor Hunt; an honest toiler but lacks the wherewithal for the big league.

Fair enough if they want him as a stopper. But how many did ronke kick on him. He easily could have had 5 or 6.

Don't you still have to kick to yourself first? i.e. a 6 inch tap into your own hands as you cross the goal square line.

That doesn't count as a possession but your subsequent kick would.

If they kick from within the square, I'd say it's like the old rule & doesn't count. And the player can also handball from within the goal square if they have a teammate close enough - not sure I've seen that happen much though

But since they got rid of the rule about having to kick it to yourself & being able to just play on/run your 15 meters, once the player elects to play on then surely the resulting kick would count as a possession.
