It will make a mockery of the competition if the clear competition leader is playing its home final in front of 75 thousand screaming pies fans at the ground the pies play 15 games at each season when the pies finished fourth.

we can not have a repeat of the ridiculous 2017 finals series.

surely the competition has moved beyond the amateurish of playing finals where crowds are highest at the expense of fairness. Other professional sports do not do this.

note the grand final is a little different because there are no home sides in a grand final and the crowds arent heavily biased to mcg tenants due to fans travelling and all the neutral fans. So please dont bring grand final arguments into this thread as its not equivalent.

Arc up mate. No one was asking for it this year because of the redevelopment. KP next year will hold 40k which is no different to the gabba, or the old football park and subiaco. If finals can be played there, why not KP next year?

Because there isnt an MCG up the road from the GABBA, Football Park or Subiaco.

It's cute and amusing that for a 'minnow' club that Geelong supposedly is for the likes of Collingwood and Richmond fans something they repeatedly tell every one on message boards and social media again and again; Geelong somehow engenders enough feeling and emotion from both fan bases that it brings these 2 feral fan bases together by giving each other moral support when they play against Geelong. lol

This mindset reminds me of the arguments Jim Jeffries made to shred to pieces the gun nuts stance on the 'amendments' that they treat as gospel. Just because certain men made rules have existed for years, if not decades and centuries, doesn't mean they're infallible or else black slaves and women not being allowed to work would still be a thing.

It's an analogy/metaphor, look it up. The main gist is that merely saying keeping the status quo is the right thing to do just 'cos of 'tradition' and it makes more money for the AFL (and the not the relevant clubs in question) is a weak daft argument that should be laughed out of the discussion.

Magpies and Tigers fans cry blue murder when once in a blue moon they are forced to play a home game, during the home and away season, at Docklands by the AFL. Just imagine how loudly they would squeal if the situation with Geelong were reversed.
