Even if we are to believe Dr Reid wasn't across everything that was going on at * the fact that he wasn't was reason enough for him to have stood down from his position at the club immediately .
Disgrace !!
Probably should have, but I think there were circumstances completely out of his control which is why CAS weren't so hard on him. Based on their assessment, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Take pick 2 off the *******. Pick 15 and 37 looks like a punishment GWS had an awful big say in. As much as the Cheats did when they managed to squeeze an end of first rounder out of the AFL after committing the most heinous crime in the sports history.

would they even miss them?
Not 37 and 15 because they have enough points to get their academy kids without them one way or another.

But pick 2 cost them McCarthy and a whole lot of other good picks in order for them to get McGrath as well as Setterfield. Take that off them and it will really smart.

Right now their punishment consists of 8 weeks of suspension for one of their plethora of good players, who can be replaced without problem for that time.

The other punishments are hitting Collingwood and Brisbane, not the Giants.

This decision by the AFL regarding GWS will be very interesting. Because if Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon, Richmond etc did the same thing you can bet your house on it we would have a massive fine and be out of the draft.

They can't fine GWS because they would essentially be fining themselves....

They should lose SIGNIFICANT draft picks and that means pick two. In reality it does nothing their list is insane. But at least it sends a message.

The reality is the AFL will give them a slap on the wrist and continue to show their FIFA level corruption when it comes to protecting the plastic club GWS.

GWS already got away with the Scully father and son shenanigans - don't think they will get away with this.

It seems the AFL commission is deciding today whether to award Sam Mitchell and Trent Cotchin the 2012 Brownlow medal. Personally i think no, it should have an asterisk over it like the breeched Melbourne Storm premierships.

I wonder if Cotchin and Mitchell want it?

Maybe as an heirloom for their kids but I think if I was in their shoes I wouldn't touch it with one of Tanya Hird's notepads. The 2012 Brownlow has come to symoblise everything it was not meant to.

I like * in the record books...people look back in history at the records all the time so whether it's 20/50/100/200 years from now it'll spark interest in people's psyche to find out why no one received a Brownlow for that year.

And they'll look it up and find out that Essendon were a pack of cheating campaigners back then just like they are and will be in the future. It's ingrained....

'Brownlow Medallist Trent Cotchin' is like 'President-elect Trump', it doesn't sound right.

Tell me about it, its as bad as the the time Woewoeful beat Kouta in the 2000 count. Regardless i will never consider Trent a true Brownlow medalist, an overrated, powderpuff of a captain who goes to water in finals, and has no spine at all as a leader.

McLachlan says that GWS may lose picks before the draft or after the draft.

Why would all other punishments have been administered except for the one relating to GWS, directly?

I watched the presser and he didn't say that HARKER

He actually said there's been no decision on GWS losing draft picks "No decision has been made whether action will be taken against the club."

Mind-boggling if they don't punish GWS (although given the AFL's past approach to similar matters, it's not really).

Essentially two rival clubs would be punished for what two senior GWS officials did.

He did mention that he didn't know whether if anything comes about, that sanctions may be before or after the draft.
He palmed the whole thing onto another having to make the decision.

The question stands: Why has all the other punishment been apportioned yet GWS have been left behind in this?
