I often wonder though if EB didn't exist then would JB and the department store retailers be so competitive. JB possibly, but probably not Target and co as their market share is so low and already run right on the line.

yeah this is odd, amazing how I can play things I already own for free.
I get their point about backwards compatibility but it's an odd way of saying it
Might be a stupid question....But are you able to put the orignal disks in there? or is like the Snes mini where it is just for display?
Based on the size of that hand compared to the console size I'd say no.

Just display, the fewer moving parts the cheaper they can produce the unit and profit is what these system are all about.

Just odd wording. You can play games (you already own) for free. Plus you get the extra features you get by using your current console: Chat, use of accessories (i.e. headset/controllers) and whatnot.

theres no extra cost to play the backward compatible games, unlike competitors.
Hope they put Chrono Cross on it! Being wanting to replay it for years but lost the discs yearrrrrrrrrrrrs back.

It's moot though, if you still own the discs you most likely still own the old console so you don't the system to be backwards compatible. If you don't you have to buy the disc/digital which is the same as what Playstation and lesser extant Nintendo offer. One of the most worthless features.

Absolutely tragic. I don't understand how it's happened.
To have so many licenses and products to work on, but seemingly not enough sales coming from them.
Absolutely shattered that I'll never see a Wolf Among Us 2 or the Stranger Things series they were going to bring out.
This is a very sad day for the dev scene.

Not to be disrespectful to anyone losing their job but I guess that can happen when you keep putting out the same game and people were only buying the choose your own adventure if they were a fan of the source IP.

By not progressing their product, not listening to fan feedback, and churning out games quicker than they're actually capable of finishing them properly?
It's very sad, but Telltale have stagnated and refused to take very the simple steps required to improve. They've been caught napping by the growth of the genre that they themselves made famous. Nobody to blame but themselves.
