We were 32 minutes away from knocking off the team that has won 3 flags in 4 seasons. Do you think Cameron, Higgins and Smith aren't improving our side?

Its basically 40s pick next year for hickey and 58..its overpay but not as bad as it looks. Gives them enough bid points for this year.

Bit of a shocker from the cats too be honest, giving up pick 30 for a 33 yr old who will still be a role player, reality is the club will need to get into the GF to justify these lavish spending of draft capital, otherwise heads will need to roll

I expect Higgins next 40 games to be better than. LF. I also have doubts about how much game time he will get in 2021...

The irritation to me compounded by multiple factors..the selection of him , the type of players he is . the player that we could have , perhaps should have selected.

A whole list strategy is all about now ..and its hollowing out our list , thats multiplied by the quality of the kids we are adding. Would Fogarty be moving if he was best22

People think he’s going a lot better than he is.

I know Ablett better than I know Higgins ..and I heard the Ablett stuff for 3 years on his return. The player he was , was not the player that arrived in Ablett Mark3

They pushed him out because they are rebuilding and need draft capital not form. The last 3 years his form has been exceptional. The only question is whether his body stays healthy at his age..if we had him in the GF side i honestly reckon we would have won it.

Cameron to split attention with Hawkins. Great. Hawkins has been almost bullet proof..but one injury and the hole thing goes turtle up. So much age is worrying from a maintenance pov imo

This potential side resonates more of the same. I don't visualise it as a "giant" improvement on what we had. Will we change our methods. Will we become more bold. Age doesnt not embolden risk , experience teaches to minimise risk.

I’m becoming more and more disillusioned by the AFL. Every year sees less loyalty from both clubs and players. I find it hard to identify with the Cats now.

As a kid you loved that the bulk of the players came from the local area. Sprinkled with a few recruits from either interstate or country Victoria. Then when the draft was introduced we used to watch them draft young kids, patiently wait for them to develop and be satisfied with the journey (hate that word) to get to a premiership team.

Now, when a kid gets drafted, I wonder what the % likelihood is now that he will stay at your club for more than 3-4 years? Let’s face it, players are just commodities now. Keep them whilst they might show potential or be useful but if either the club or player become impatient, they are out the door. There is no patience.

After Kelly left and we were left with a swathe of picks I thought that it would be a great opportunity to bring in a group, as we did in ‘99 and ‘01 to mature together. Revitalise an otherwise ageing list. But it seems it’s ALL about the now. The future can wait. I’ll of course be rapt if we win the flag next year but will it feel as special as ‘07 or ‘09 or ‘11? No way.

I look forward to seeing it. I still think we like the most likely to leak from CB, we have a very ify ruck situation ... and our KPB will we also need changes from this year.
