I'll that that the Fogarty deal isn't terrible... assuming the club doesn't think he will make it long term for us and only be a fringe player. I'd rather keep a more dynamic Narkle than Fogs to be honest.

Anyway... I certainly can't remember the last time we fleeced a team in a trade.... Wells seems the complete opposite to Dodorro and doesn't push for that little bit more.

No doubt we will bend over for Cameron shortly.

Still... Cameron, Higgins and Smith in makes this team a flag or bust for mine, because the ass will fall out of this side in a few years...

GWS matching the FA bid has really hurt the long term youth of this side.... I'll cop it for a flag... But if no flag comes, it's a fail.

It’s just absolutely frustrating that we give other clubs good deals, not extremely good but defiantly in there favor, yet we’re the bad guys in the media and GWS trying to stick us.

Who cares about the media? And you say we give other clubs good deals but I can't really think of a trade that has come back to bite us. Probably McCarthy the most but Brisbane offered an injury riddled player multiple years which we wouldn't. It suggests we're actually pretty good at judging who will go on to be a good player and who won't and what looks like a bad deal at the time ends up fine.

So many sooks in this thread, seriously Higgins is twice the player Fogerty is, take age out of it and we have a great upgrade, there is a reason Fogerty didnt play come finals time. The club and Wells know what they are doing, back them in ffs.

But you dont take age of it ffs. Higgins is now at the age of rapid decline.

Cockatoo for a future round 3 is about right - he hasn't played for 2 years.

Fogarty deal I can understand - the game he showed something this year was when he played mid against a horrible North Melbourne team. Other games he has lacked composure and his disposal was not great. If he isn't playing pure mid, then he should 't play at all and I can't see him playing pure mid for us next year or even the year after, so smart decision to leave. Geelong probably see Cooper Stephens as playing before him as well.

In saying that, I hope we don't pay pick 30 for Higgins as that is definitely overs for someone his age, who the club have basically pushed out. Also, I know we won't do this, but if they say pick 30 or nothing then we should just walk away, he had his chance to come to the club last year and turned us down.

I think a lot of people are overrating fog, id rather get games into Cooper than him next year. Sure I would of liked more in return from him but it pick 30 helps with Higgins or Cameron deal and they help us win a flag nobody is gonna give a shit about this fog trade.

Picks now sit at 13 15 20 30 51 plus a 1st 2nd and 2 3rds next year.

I cant imagine we will hold all of those picks by tomorrow night though but its a great hand.

To be Fair we haven’t hit on a first rounder in 10 years and still managed to remain competitive whilst losing the core of our flag teams.

Because we poached half our team. Thats not sistainable using draft picks. Look at hawthorn now. They started poaching a couple of years before us and now they are destined to 10 years in the bottom half of the ladder.

Normally yes but he missed a lot of football early in his career, his body wont be like other 32-33 year olds, and lets not forget the 32 year old bloke who just won the Coleman medal for us, is he going to rapidly decline now too?

And they have been doing that since 2011 for what??. One GF ,no premierships.

Would have switching Fogarty out any of the games he played for Simpson or Narkle have changed anything. IMO he has a similar problem to Constable, he does his best work as an inside mid, doesn't do much outside of that role.

In 12 months he'd have zero value, and we save 100k+ in the cap.
