What's his pace like? especially the burst at stoppages?

Solid lad... Looks like a ripped Dane Swan without Tatts

Speed of Joel Selwood & Lachie Neale... so not quick but no turtle either. But finds it and his disposal is solid. Best of all loves a goal or two.

Yeah both around the 191cm.

G-Train Gehrig started as a Winger! Probably the strongest and one of the fastest players ever in AFL.
Gehrig was always insanely fit too, except for the tail end of his career where he copped a few injuries. But its funny because early in his career he was a pacey winger and in the end he was a monster forward. Imagine if Hawkins was a winger from 07 to 2012 and then became a KPF after that.

Gehrig, 1995, drafted to the Eagles in 1993 VS Gehrig, PF 2004.

Geez what a dumb post.
I'm sure Cameron, Duncan and Danger would have been more than happy to be traded to anyone with decent picks to take them...
Seriously, in a sea of stupid, this takes the cake.
If there were suitors who were in a premiership windows then ofcourse there would of been biters. Caddy never wanted to leave (was buying a house in geelong) but then when we put him up for trade he wanted to go. Same with motlop.

To call that post stupid given what has happened at our club alone in recent times is quite stupid. You are usually a better poster then that.

Always thought early Gehrig had massive Jerry Seinfeld vibes!

I hope we don’t get a tall DFA. Time to give SDK a go.
Not sure that picking up a tall via the DFA option equates to SDK not being given a go next season

We went into this past season with Henderson, Blicavs, Kreuger & SDK as tall defensive options. With our list changes we've lost half those players, and if we don't look at a tall defensive option via DFA list or draft, we may well be leaving ourselves short next year

Lots of simiarities between gehrig and ablett. Ablett was better but gehrig was a very similar player.

I also would have said a month ago we would go for hanrahan as a DFA but stengle is a similar player so we probably have that covered. I assume if we bring in another DFA it will be a tall and preferably a key back.
Always seemed an odd player for us to be linked with

Reckon hell struggle, no interest all trade period and list spots and salary caps are tight, reckon if he gets all the way through we will rookie him though.

Both last year and this most recent trade period, there was a common idea around the lack of external interest in Constable and it was based on the idea of the reduced list sizes & salary caps impacting all clubs

While an understandable general explanation, it also suggests that no club seemingly views Constable as potentially being in the best 25/26 players on their list, because if there was a club that saw him as being even on the fringes of their best 22, wouldn't you at least ask the question of Geelong as to what they'd want in terms of a trade

If it's a case that clubs are using reduced list sizes as a reason of not really being into him, isn't that just a nice way of saying that he's likely to be a depth player and not much more?

Ceglar is a better ruck than SavRat, no ifs or buts, anyone thinking otherwise needs to watch both. But as a Key Forward, I'd go SavRat, but its not by a lot. Its not like SavRat has been a consistent Key Forward, and Ceglar has mainly played as a Ruck. Go have a look at Ceglar's end to last season, when he was in the ruck, its a heck of a lot better than SavRat or Blitz in the ruck. I would say that Ceglar has better "tap" craft in the ruck than Stanley, but Stanley is the better overall ruck. Ceglar is a minor upgrade on Fort, but neither are brilliant. Its not a trade I would worry about much either, much of a muchness.
Honestly take games this year, and swap Esava as fwd/ruck for Stanley, and have Ceglar as ruck and we come out ahead because Stanley can mark and kick goals at a better rate than Esava.

Give Esava time in the VFL to work explicitly as a forward.

Yet 11 people have agreed it was a stupid comment.
Trading out stars for picks is for the loser clubs.

That crap is beneath us. We get 4-5 shots at bringing in talent this year.
We didn't get a midfielder in. Big ****in whoop.

I'm a huge fan of McLachlan but we already have Miers, Dahlhaus, Simpson, Close, Evans, Holmes and now Stengle that all play a similar role.
What role is that? Dahlhaus and Close are tackling/pressure forwards, Miers is a FP that is always up the field but chips in with some goals and assists, Simpson is a slower midfielder, probably inside mid but flexible, and Holmes is a pacey outside mid/winger.
And Stengle will be a dedicated goal scoring forward pocket.
