He was good at VFL level when given the chance - not many of them, given injuries and season shutdown.They weren't all plodders. Mumford was given a godfather offer from Sydney for e.g. Anyway, I guess we're just in disagreement on this one. The fact that to me seems much more obvious than any rift with a coach is the fact that he hasn't cut the grade at either AFL or vfl level this season.
AFL level he wasn't good, but honestly being played at half-back might have actually helped.
Mumford's problem is that, at the time, Ottens was still there for another 3 to 4 years (we thought) and Blake was entrenched as ruckman number two.
