Who was Smith mates with at Hawthorn?
Is it Insta-stalking to look through ones past Instagram posts?

This looks likely to be from an end of season trip a few years back - Frawley, Breust & Schoenmakers

He also has a photo with Hodge - maybe he can get his mate in to coach

Meh. Even then I'd rather the Hawks not trade him so that they don't have access to an additional first rounder.

And I agree he's overrated however he's still a decent player. Better than some of the players currently getting games in the Tigers midfield.

I don't think its that great of a win win for either. Its dumb for a shit team to dump one of their better players, odd are they'll **** up the pick.

I think Richmond wouldn't be getting that much value from him that they don't already have on their list, they'll just be pushing a decent inside mid out of the rotations.

What a choice we could get Frawley or Shoenmakers to be our new key defender.

I cant see that happening.

Breust re signed this year anyway. I doubt he goes.

They should have traded gunston last year with the back injury his trade value is gone now.

Reckon mitchell or wingard they try to trade.

I’m very comfortable with extending Kolo and Atkins. Both in the age group we need going forward with our ageing list.

Although they are not A grade talent, I do appreciate that they continue to improve each year and add dimensions to their game.

Let’s hope the maintain their endeavour and work ethic after the ink has dried on their contracts.

Giving players the extra year is Geelong salary cap management 101

IF thats we we have to do rather than backend it then perhaps its the way to go. Its probably easy to get greedy and put things off till a later day..but when the later day comes it can be quite a reckoning

Just saw this article on AFL.com.au about the number of first and second rounders each club has had over the past 5 years.

I wasn't surprised by the fact we've made the third fewest, but it's pretty amazing that the Hawks are dead last. Can't believe Kennett was making comments about dipping for 2 years and then jumping back up (actually, I can believe that coming from him) but man, they look set to be in a world of pain for a good 3-4 years minimum.

Kennett was basing his comments on the fact that there's so many rookies in premiership sides or sides contesting. He ignores the fact that said rookies are being dropped into a well defined team structure and plan with well defined roles and expectations for them. If they're relying on draftees to maintain game plan and structure they're cooked. Hawks have hit the "find out" stage after years of going through the "f$#% around" stage.

The ability to have kids learn role specifics through the vfl and be coached by elite players in a game plan and structure that is being demonstrated at the level every week is a massive advantage in the rebuilding phase when it hits.

Great point. Do you think that's an advantage the Cats (and a few other teams) have had for a while?

Just a trade rumour. But we’d have him.

I hadn't seen much of Darcy before others here raised him as a good addition to our team structure...
so on the weekend I decided to watch the Freo game with a focus on Darcy...

Well I'm on the band wagon..he was very very good...so if he's heading Geelong's way then bring him on board..I'm excited at the thought of him in the hoops..

That page is always unreliable.

But we would go for him big time if hes willing to come.

I think it's one of those that throws out 100 rumours in the hope of 1 or 2 being right which they then point to when questioned, while they ignore the 98 they got wrong
