I get why both Bruhn and Henry are rated as worth a first round pick. Both were first round picks, have had 2 years worth of development invested in them and have played senior footy. I just do not want to pay overs for either of them.
Bruhn I am not sure about. From the bits I have seen of him he looked a little “tentative” at the ball.
Henry has great hands for his size but the concern I have is that in 2 years he has not added a defensive side to his game. I’m sure we can help him develop if he is a kid that will listen.

Late r1 is market value for each. It would only be overs if we traded a top 10 pick.

I wonder if there is a chance Hopper doesn't get to Richmond, we can maybe get next year for free. Otherwise, I wonder what free agent targets we have in mind for 2023,2024.
Hopper has burnt us twice now... He can be gone and stay gone.

Hardly rate him anyway... Happy for the Tiges to pay overs for the slow inside plodder type that he is.

It’s a lot harder to find AFL quality forwards than midfielders - just ask Melbourne.

The fact Henry got dropped from a top 4 team late in the season is irrelevant. There is nothing surprising about a young exciting forward burning out towards the end of a long season. The likes of Jamarra Ugle-Hagan and Logan McDonald have also been in and out of their teams over the last two years - both will be elite. Henry has already shown enormous potential (received a Brownlow vote at age 19 this year), which is so much harder to find than a Bruhn type midfielder.

For what it’s worth I know a few Pies fans who think that if they won their prelim, Henry would have replaced Ash Johnson in the GF given Johnson was awful in both the semi and prelim (zero goals across the two games).

Henry is statistically performing as well as Jamarra over their first two seasons, I’ve posted it before, but I have seen every game Henry has played for the Pies and I’ve never been more confident of a player becoming a 40+ a year goalkicker for the next decade.

Only one of those 2 players is a key forward. I rate Henry but this is not the best comparison. He is in the mold of Fritsch, Gunsten, Heeney, Mihocek as a medium forward. He doesn't have the mobility of those players listed but is better overhead. If he can improve his mobility and fitness he will be a very tough match up.

Never been fussed by Hopper, less so in him coming to us. Taranto would’ve been nice though.

Nah... it can't be that.
It's the selfish part i hate and the arrogance of the bloke.
Yep. Thats it lol.
Yeah it's the selfish aspect I'm not a fan of-not his abilities. That time he didn't give the ball over was unforgivable and he needs to reedeem himself in the eye of the public but more importantly his teamates

Do we?? I know a lot of banter on our pages indicate it.
But thats just us... The BF Cats nuffies... yes yes i am one of them lol.
But do we really... Does wells/mackie think the same way?
Are we more enamoured with Cadman? Wells perfect replacement for Hawkins in 2 years time??
Does Wells rank Elijah Tsatas the 2nd best Mid?
Does he think the other Elijah is better than most pundits think?
Is Brayden George a similar yet different version of Dusty Martin?
Looking at our list going forward i am trying to see what is needed in 2025-26 not the next two years as they would be lucky to have any real impact IMO.
What have the list managers been doing behind the scenes regards of a few future free agents or potential trade targets.
I think that there will be a few picks that will blindside the so called draft guru pundits this year.

Its ironic that Clark is compare to Selwood .In that draft we were strongly link to the geelong boy ... and at 5 he went to Port. That group of players at the top is a class that we have rarely had access to and we compared types to what we might bring in, or already have and have hopes for ... id say Clark is not a type we are lacking ...although none are probably as good as him. If he was 190 plus he would probably be rated even higher.

I think Humpfrey and MacKenzie would be good variation to our current mouth talent pool.. and might be there at 8... so Im not to worried that was it falls and who picks who.... its more about getting that P7, If Bowes picks us and we get 7 .. im sure we will get someone handy.

If i had a choices i would take Ugle-Hagan thanks

Noooo NOOOO... Please Noooo....
I hate that smart arse selfish RUNT!!
I nearly spilt my coffee FFS... LOL.

Fritch has a lot of aspects that I love in a forward. Good mark, moves well, deadly setshot... and to some degree selfish. To me selfless forwards are abdicators of responsibility... we could dial it back a bit with the right mantra in a different environment but if henry could reflect him ..get his kick as good as him.. he would be a deadly forward.

Selfless forwards abdicators of responsibility???

Tom Hawkins might dispute that.....

Oh please. at one point this season we were big time into chasing degoey.
Were we?? U believe the media reports...??
C'mon man. U actually think we were chasing him or just made the obligatory enquiry.
Or the one i'll tell you. That it was just due diligence to appease some folk out there.
The line was put thru him within minutes of sitting down.
So i'll end this debate by putting a line thru that notion.
Cheers

Any truth to the rumour that Holmes is dirty at the club for being dropped after the medical staff declared him fit, and is considering asking for a trade??

Was posted on one of the main page forums.

You should feel ashamed of yourself for spreading Ricky Nixon rumours :$

It was only a matter of time before a story like that about Holmes would appear. Journos can't resist stirring the pot.

I was however a bit surprised he wasn't included a bit more in the post-game acknowledgements and general jubilation; after all we may have not beaten the Pies without him.

On another note, i don't get why people question O Henry's mobility: he would be no less athletic than his brother who was a champion junior decathlete.

I think he is a downhill skier with self interest at the top of his list importance.
Oh and a deadset wanka 2 boot.
Sorry TC he just grinds my gears. lol
Cheers

That Nixon is another deadset wanka. lol

Yes I believe that . Hawkins is an exception to that, he is fantastic forward..and has steped up in big moments over and over but even he at times has been too selfless. I go back to the waxing of SJ and Mooney ...and often Mooney was selfless and a part of that was apprehension about his conversion
