JHF leaving surely places Roos in the box seat for Bowes, they can comfortably accommodate his salary and offer him midfield time.
Pick 7 alongside pick 1 and whatever they get for JHF will set them up nicely.
37 and 47 or 37 and Esava should be enough for Bruhn.
Alternatively could trade those picks for a future second to use to trade to the Suns.
Nah, just seems like it. Buckley did the same thing 20 years ago. Most of the trade outs tend to be from the expansion clubs, e.g. Boyd. These kids asking for a trade earlier now then ever... Feels like the kids these days are a bunch of soft c%cks.... not all of them, only the ones that ask to be traded

If Bowes wants immediate game time - and given his age and years in the system you would have to think that that would be his main priority in picking a club - then I don't really get why he would choose us over the many other clubs that would offer easier pathways to the first team. Not that I'm complaining, though, obviously, if he does end up choosing us.
I get that a lot of the appeal of Geelong is our success, but I legitimately struggle to see who he'd replace in our best 22 next season.
Need to use a R1 pick this year or next
The issue as always is that a player has to want to go there.
Jhf leaving makes them even more likely to stay down the bottom of the ladder so i cant see bowes wanting to go there unless they offer him insane money.
Can't trade out a f1st and f2nd unless you get one of either back
I guess the uncertainty around Clarkson makes them a difficult sell at the moment.
Strange from the Josh Barnes article. Seems like the club is seeking a ruling?
Maybe JHF will leverage that as a justification /excuse for his trade request? To change the narrative somewhat to his sideSadly it does.
A little bit off track but is there a strategy in all this where we can wriggle a low future first rounder to have a crack at TDK next year using pick 7 for Norths first next year.Just spit balling.Atkins has to be elevated as has done 4 years.
Close has done 3 but the afl allowed rookies to stay a 4th year during covid. Might be checking if we could use that loophole to not elevate close and keep an extra senior spot free although id just elevate him.
But when Buckley did that trade 20 years ago, he wasn't from Victoria..Nah, just seems like it. Buckley did the same thing 20 years ago. Most of the trade outs tend to be from the expansion clubs, e.g. Boyd.
North were dumb to have drafted him in the first place. Should have bid on Daicos at 1 and drafted Callaghan instead, or taken the Crows’ offer.

Esava is equivalent to one of those picks around 40. Those two picks or one with Esava is pretty similar to the Caldwell trade.Nah sav doesnt have enough value for giants to take that.could trade 37 47 and 52 for a future 2nd though and flip that for bowes.
If Port can bring in JHF this year and then Kosi Pickett next year, that would be huge for their club.
Can if you bring one back in and a F2 is easier to gain than a F1
Someone like Esva perhaps
If we use 18 or a future first for bruhn, you’d have to assume we’d be getting something back
I think Haw broke the rule somehow ..and managed to do it
