Disagree. If Ginnivan didn't play, Hill would unlikely to have had as much freedom.2 men short up forward actually... Ginnivan was a very close 2nd in worst on ground
McCluggage was better than Andrews too, and also arguably Cameron and McInerney.Mmm I'd say Daniher, Dunkley, Bailey and Coleman were all much better.
Frampton completely took him out of it the first half. Worked his way into it the second half.
I dont really see it.
For starters wines is contracted to 2026 and likely their next captain as soon as next year.
I dont see why he would want out when hes settled there.
Secondly at 29 hes unlikely to be still around for our next big flag push in 3-4 years, if he was 26 id agree it with it but i dont see a fit.
If port were dumping him cheap sure but they would want sav and a 1st for wines and theres no chance id agree to trade our r1 next year.
I dont see it happening.

Maybe - but HA only had 5 in the first half so Billy definitely did his role then.Haha come on, the last line is the only truth in these lines (and good luck to him too).
Kissed on the you what by you know who old Billy boy.

I see it the other way..for me we arent winning a flag while danger etc are left (cameron maybe if hes still going at 33-34).
Our window is when we have a core mass of bruhn sdk both ollies clark knevitt conway holmes neale etc (plus whoever we draft with our r1s this year and next) at prime age (25-27) with a few older heads at 30 or so (which will be guys like miers atkins jack henry etc supporting them).
Wines doesnt fit that window.
Granted things can turn around quick and collingwood were 17th 2 years ago but id be surprised if we win a flag in 2 years.
Id only take wines if he was drastically cheap like tom mitchell was (pies gave up henry and 41 and 50 for mitchell and 25). But hawks had a reason to sell him cheap as they are rebuilding. Port think they are in a flag window so they wont sell wines cheap. Its a no from me.
I'd actually almost trade our F1 over our #7 this year if given the choice. Will know more over the next few days I suspect but if Smith is gettable for a reasonable deal (pick 7 plus a F2) then I’m in. Don’t want our FF to be traded under any circumstances though.
He didn’t win a flag, must be no good NO EXCUSESHappy birthday to Ablett Snr…. My boyhood idol and best player Ive seen! Happy Birthday Gazza!
Berry deserves criticism, and will have a few nightmares from the game. He’s a backman/ruck who was played as a forward. Regardless, he tried his hardest and did enough to stop Andrews dominating the game.
Berry deserves far more criticism.
Geez your attempts at humour have ran thin… rinse & repeat & not funny! Moving on…..He didn’t win a flag, must be no good NO EXCUSES
Future picks will be on a key forward I reckon, lot of quality out of contract 2024 and 2025 and well be without Hawk and Jez before we know it.
Has there been any talk about what our salary cap situation is. Do we have cap space to spend.
I must try harder to be funny NO EXCUSESGeez your attempts at humour have ran thin… rinse & repeat & not funny! Moving on…..
Bang on mate.Literally any A-Grader in the midfielder would just about do it.
But we absolutely need a clean bill of health to start with. Without that our season is ****ed before it starts. Pies were ragged at the end and just got over the Lions, but they were banking wins early in the season when they didn't have injuries. And when they copped injuries it happened after they had top 2 stitched up and could rest players.
Add a decent midfielder and Guthrie into a team that has now has gotten a full season into guys like Bruhn, Henry and Bowes to get them used to the Geelong system, along with anyone else we might trade in, and add in we have a full preseason + in theory an easier fixture next season and theres absolutely no reason we aren't top 4 and pushing for a Premiership.
None of the top 4 this year were impressive and flags the next few years are very gettable from the top 6.
Would you want Blicavs on the wings? 2022 was massively successful because we mainly had Holmes and Smith with speed on the wings. Blicavs is a running machine but he is an AA because he rucks and then becomes a very tall midfielder. Not sure we would be wise having him on the wings. To bring in Ollie wines and Baz would be a fair off season
Would allow us to move max and Blitz to permanent wings
Danger to play more forward
Port maybe looking at moving Ollie on as they will need cash next year to sign butters, Marshall, Rozee, Duursma, and quite a few others not to mention they need to find picks or players to accommodate the three guys that have nominated them this year
Weird comment. This is how much of nothing we got to talk about.
We are talking about Billy Frampton.
The dude is walking around laughing his head off.
I'll take 23 spuds if they play in a winning GF every day of the week.
Pies just won the flag and he is a premiership player forever.
They got the last laugh... everyone else, including us are losers.
Comes with a Chiko roll, and the accompanying motorcycle poster with the chick in it...Cats might be doing a deal to bring in Cheap Wines, as well as a bloke with three day growth. Not sure if either are the mystery mid though.

Holmes and Caleb Windsor, great wingers for the now and the next 8-10 years.Would you want Blicavs on the wings? 2022 was massively successful because we mainly had Holmes and Smith with speed on the wings. Blicavs is a running machine but he is an AA because he rucks and then becomes a very tall midfielder. Not sure we would be wise having him on the wings.
The best wingers the last 5 years have a few things in common. Speed, good decision making and depth with their kicking.
Small point, but Pies are NOT the challengers.Weird comment.
It's GF day, it's the pinnacle of our sport regardless of who's playing off.
Of course it's going to garner some comments in here. Everyone's looking at how the Cats can get back there, and they're looking at the many weaknesses an obvious challenger in Collingwood has.
It's been mentioned ad nauseum, but there's not going to be anything juicy until post the GF. It might even take till the start of the trade period, clubs are so tight lipped these days, the best we can get is any alleged 'ITK' news.
The Thomas thing looks dead in the water, Smith feels like a real possibility, but still a week or so away from anything legit been released.
Wines might be something, it might not, likewise Lord, and then there's probably some lesser names in the pipeline that we're yet to hear about.
Thw thread will heat up big time over the next month with the aforementioned names, and maybe even a couple surprises....but it's hardly strange or 'loser talk' that some folks are mentioning the GF. It's Christmas day for footy fans.
The way it was explained to me by the person i spoke to yesterday was that Wines is being included because Port dont have much else to trade with this year (unsure if it is us that are bringing his name into it or Port though).
I get the feeling that the club may not be happy with a future pick from Port for Sav. So they want to maximise the value they get from Sav in this years trade/draft period and thats where Wines name comes into it (plus pick swaps, but dont know if our 1st is involved).
Personally i agree with you, i dont like it much, and hope it doesnt happen.
