If you have 7 and then a dark tunnel ... then this is the type of player we will be getting excited with
Sure.

But with Smith, Lord, Wines, Harmes etc being floated...O'Brien isn't exactly the one out of those names who gets the imagination dreaming flags.

We do need depth in that area though, and he'll provide a senior body at VFL level so I'd be okay with it.

So what ruck are we getting.. No chance in hell we stick with Stanley if they are serious about competing next year. He is useless.

That's Premiership Ruckman Rhys Stanley, thank you

I hope the ‘why aren’t we doing anything?’ Crowd can back off now we have picked up the phone to Tim O’Brien to come down the highway as Kolo’s loyal understudy.
All of a sudden 'why aren't we doing anything?' switches to 'can we go back to doing nothing!'.

I'm sure we'd like to do something, be busy, in the trade period but really we've got scarcely any trade capital - pick 7/8 and Esava and maybe a future pick; and that's it unless there's another development brewing.

It's a bummer because we desperately need some class in the 23-28yo bracket.

But we've picked up the phone and called Tim O'Brien ;)

Don't stress.

I've just called the club and there's been some confusion. They were able to clarify and advise that they had in fact called Jim O'Brien not Tim O'Brien. Jim had applied for a job at the football club cleaning the toilets on match days in the social club. They were just calling him back to arrange an interview.

Crisis averted.

Smith = 7 and Sav pick

Harmes = Whatever, likely a future 3rd

O'Brien = Zilch

Or something like this

Wines = For Sav, maybe a switch of some other picks

Harmes = Same again

O'Brien = Same again

**********************

Fix up the midfield, and add some needed depth. Still a very productive off-season.

How many classy 23-28 year olds do you think each club will be bringing in this season? How many in any season?

More important is how our current ones perform: SDK, J.Henry, Miers, Close, Stengle, Zuthrie, Bowes, O'Connor, Atkins and Kolo. Career best form from most of those 10 would be a way bigger coup then grabbing one talented 25 year old.

In this era of buy the meat to eat...not breed and raise the cattle... these 2 or 3 year spak filla guys fill a role.

Id be happy if we just went the otehr way for a couple of years but as plenty on here have stipulated... the club has Danger and Cameron ... they will try to supply a group to max their time.

A four way trade involving grundy, wines and esava was floated on trade radio. Cats could end up with pick 23 for Sav.
Could help us draft Stevens, move up for Sanders or trade for Bailey Smith.

Was that Adam Cooney's mega trade for the day? Take anything coming out of his mouth with a grain of salt.

Hello Cats fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

cats_09 you may like to sticky or merge this post, move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), and perhaps copy to your draft thread.
