He's right though that's the funny thing. Supporters can stick their heads in the sand as much as they like. Why repeat yourself. If they didn't agree with you the first time then repeating it won't help.
Maybe thats why West Coast wants P7 ...now P8.
... and why they might pay thru the nose if he is there at our pick.. but if they do not trade p1 ...they have little that would appeal to me to get our pick bar their Fr1 ..and I cant see them trading that.
Curtin would be Selwood like in him slipping to our pick... and if he is there I cant see us calling anyone else. A 195cm midfield defender .... The only down side is both WA clubs would come for him.
Of all the players for the dogs to trade up for, an inside mid to me makes the least sense. Am I missing something?
I didn't say he was wrong, just needs to work on his influencing skills. He's right though that's the funny thing. Supporters can stick their heads in the sand as much as they like.

Curtin himself said the other day he’d relish relocating to Victoria if it went that way. They might come for him but if he’s happy sounds like he’d stay.
Sorry Fred, but that's about Lance Collard?See post 8277 above![]()
8277 is about Parfitt, as I saidSorry Fred, but that's about Lance Collard?
If it was a post in this thread you are referring to, it did not directly say it's been an issue ALL his career, although it may have appeared to be the case. When he was a tagger, small forward, run with player, he seemed quick enough, our leading tackler easily, and very feisty.
Injuries have prevented him having continuity.
In recent 2 seasons, he has looked bulkier, perhaps slower, and I get the bulk may have been attempted strength gains in view of his injuries, who knows. Main thing is the running has been targeted and addressed as an area of improvement, so we all should be happy.
If we leave draft night with Curtin or Sanders we are laughing. Won't happen but I like daydreaming about it.Curtin is a hard one to read. I don't see a key defender but the kid can seriously play. I would take him over Sanders and not even blink. Averaged over 23 touches a game in the championships. Phenomenal for a 195 cm player
There will be close to zero chance we will take Curtin.. If he got to our pick WCE or Freo would offer Geelong a deal they couldn't say no to for 8.
Perhaps there is a limit to the number of Jacks you can have on an afl list ?Does someone at Footywire know somethings the rest of us don't or do they just not like Jack Billings - I'm pretty sure he's still contracted at the Saints, but he's been removed from their player list on Footywire:

The player contract list:

And that his 3 games this year don't actually count as having played for St Kilda and he's now a past player:

As per other sources, including the St Kilda website - he's contracted for another 2 years...
Parfitt (maybe) snuck in when endurance was useful, but not as essential as it has become these days.So Parfitt, a one position player if ever there was one, has lacked the very attribute required to play said position all his career. Does make you wonder.
Sorry, I need glasses. Yes, it says his aerobic capacity has been an issue all career. That does not imply he has not been putting in the work, but, Not sure that is salvageable if he is a natural fast twitch fibre athlete. Good that they are attempting to rectify it.8277 is about Parfitt, as I said
"Lawrence said Parfitt was working on increasing his endurance, with his aerobic capacity a glaring weakness during his career so far."
Not really, Atkins lacked the tank and was used in limited spurts to ensure he could go 100% when on the field and recover on the bench, Bruhn still developing his was used in a similar fashion this year. Parfitt has had a very different journey, would have had enough of a tank to be the bull when Selwood, Danger, Guthrie needed a break, but never used in a rotational midfiled in the same manner we evolved in 2022. Developing a gas tank and ensuring he doesn't become too light to be a bull is probably the concern with his frame. I'm looking forward to seeing if he can break into this team, he appears to work hard on the track. So Parfitt, a one position player if ever there was one, has lacked the very attribute required to play said position all his career. Does make you wonder.
I reckon them trading up for a key forward considering they have Naughton, JUH, Darcy and likely Croft makes much less sense.Of all the players for the dogs to trade up for, an inside mid to me makes the least sense. Am I missing something?
Surely we won’t get that lucky to get Curtain. He is exactly the type of player a team thats bereft of young 195cm players need.
Currently WCE and Freo wouldn’t have the ammo to come for it on draft night. Freo prob have pick 20ish (Shultz) + F1. I’d pass. WCE (unless they trade 1) would be 21 + F1. That would get it done but WCE wouldnt do that knowing it’s a big chance to be Pick #1 next year. If they did decide they have to have Curtain you’d guarantee they would have offered it to Melb and GWS who would have taken it before us.
As I’ve said before our pick just makes it into the last of the tier 1 players before it really evens out. To trade it you’d want. 3 picks over two drafts in the teens or a late first this year and a probable very early pick next year.
Just after clarification, the Dogs traded their future first to Gold Coast and their future third to Melbourne. I didn't think you could do that.
