I really have my doubts on that scenario playing out tbh.We are some chance to land Curtin now I think.
Get the feeling we'll be presented with a choice of Curtin or O'Sullivan and we'll trade the pick backIf we draft anything other than a mid I will cry
I agree. Surely with Bont, Libba, Treloar, Macrae and Smith on the books, Sanders is not the type of player they need?Of all the players for the dogs to trade up for, an inside mid to me makes the least sense. Am I missing something?

You're assuming that what we saw from SDK is somehow permanent.Tuohy is on his last legs, Jack Henry is struggling to get out on the park, SDK is banged up and a shadow of his 2022 self, Bews is older, slower and not in our best backline, Kolo same reasons as for Bews. That 2022 backline for all of the reasons above is no longer good enough. I feel like I am repeating myself.
Pick 3 as compensation for McKay is a disgrace. Have any of those muppets at Essendon or the AFL actually watched him play? I know he's been in a sh!t team, but he's part of the reason they're sh!t. Lucky to be worth pick 23.Latest murmurings are that WC will retain pick 1 and take Reid. North to use 2 and 3 on McKercher and Duursma. Leaves Hawks with Watson and Dogs likely to take Sanders. Disappointing but the Sanders dream to fall to us was probably always unlikely.
Melb looking at Caddy or Curtin. Leaves GWS to take the other or O’Sullivan.
Leaves us with one of those 3 above or Wilson.
Can you share that article please?A glaring weakness throughout his career is what his manager actually said.
Hopefully they take Curtin.Of all the players for the dogs to trade up for, an inside mid to me makes the least sense. Am I missing something?
I would rather take Gould. He is younger and if I remember rightly is a good kick. It may be that getting delisted will make him work harder and fix his deficiencies if they can be fixed.Who would people rather?
Tim O'Brien or Will Gould? View attachment 1827623

Why?We are some chance to land Curtin now I think.
Aren't they 3 year deals now for Top 10 players? Or was that something just being floated... Still can be a float risk post that period I suppose, but might be enough to get someone to gel/commit to a longer term with a club. Case by case ofcHopefully they take Curtin.
The kids a gun, but I don't like the idea of picking him. The only reason Norf wouldn't take him is he's a flight risk.
Who's the tallest defender they've got now? Logue who's out for the year anyway?
Urgent need, top 3 talent...and they say no? Just doesn't add up unless he's tanked the interviews.
Curtin would be best case scenario for us.
I think he can be a tall mid, blitz/bont mode. Playing mostly as a mid but resting to help the backline. Also flexibility to play forward.
If there’s a chance curtin slips to 8 then there’s no way we trade back
I hope someone overrates Caddy and go for Watson as well. I don’t think it’s likely but it’s a chance.Reuben Ginbey did similar last year. Played all his juniors as a backman and made the switch to midfield in his top age year.Curtin would be best case scenario for us.

I believe they have, it was mentioned as a carrot for the Eagles to pick Reid...but it's just such a fear with young players these days.Aren't they 3 year deals now for Top 10 players? No but Geelong's star is falling. The chickens have come home to roost. However 2022 made it all worth while. Looking forward to seeing the youngsters step up - Dempsey and Mullin in particular. And the sky is falling.

Has Curtin played any midfield as of yet?
Think he will be best as a rebounding defender I think... kind of like Jezza Cameron in style of play but at CHB insteadYes similar. Although curtin is a bit taller. Watch curtin’s champs highlights, he plays a lot of mid time
Curtin doesn’t go past pick 3 IMONorth are straight up idiots if they don't draft Curtin, and just draft another two small/medium sized players. Gonna be wonderful having 50 mids and half forwards, but no actual KPP's of note besides Larkey.
Par for the course for them by now, I guess.
Curtin doesn’t go past pick 3 IMO

Why repeat yourself. If they didn't agree with you the first time then repeating it won't help.Tuohy is on his last legs, Jack Henry is struggling to get out on the park, SDK is banged up and a shadow of his 2022 self, Bews is older, slower and not in our best backline, Kolo same reasons as for Bews. Strangely all very different types of players. That's my gut feel too. Still think WC hold their nerve until pick trades are nearly done, and see who blinks first.
North and Hawks are playing coy, but both really want Reid and are in the right spot to get him. If they don't get him, then both are in dire need of KPD's moving forward. Curtin just makes too much sense for North if they don't get Reid.
Essentially though, if Dogs don't get Watson, they will take Sanders - so that's the biggest 'what if.' Still think the other 2 take O'Sullivan and Caddy due to a needs basis.
For mine though, I want Sanders/Curtin/Wilson/O'Sullivan, in that order. First 2 a much smaller chance, last two a definite possibility - and nearly guaranteed in the case of Wilson.
