O’Brian’s manager was on trade radio today, same manager as Parfitt and actually cockatoo and linc so obviously has a bit of geelong link.Tim O'Brien or Will Gould? View attachment 1827623
No he didn’t.Yes, but only because that's what he said.
It's been a problem his whole career though.
I've said it before, but he's a player who doesn't hurt you by foot, and doesn't kick goals.
Think Tom Mitchell or Matt Crouch, but at least they get it 30-40 times a game, and that's the level required to impact games if you are a midfielder who doesn't have the aforementioned qualities.
Hopefully with a higher fitness base/running ability he can work his way over the ground and find more 'easy ball' to go with his contested game.
Who is this Edwards Ruck we are talking about?
Charles Edwards in this draft is a 190cm outside midfielder... Probably the no2 outside midfielder we probably will look at if Darcy Wilson is not available. Wilson you'd look at in the 10-20 range, Edwards you'd look at in the 18-35 range.

Which decade?Personally id take Obrien - he had alot of talent re his Haw days - inconsistent - but at Geel - skillfull sort of side he might go good - dont know what happened at Footscray - Markov is no worldbeater but he went from Tigerland to the Suns ( no good at all ) to Coll - where he is now a Premiership player
Re Obrien - there is some Nth Melb player - key position player ive forgotten his name - he allways played well against the Cats - a teaser like Obrien - but Nth delisted him - and another team picked him up - and i thought he did all right - and i can remember thinking i wouldnt have minded him at Geel
You have to have talent and i reckon Obrien has got some
I’m very keen on Collard from WA. Kicked two bags of five in the WAFL colts finals. Looks a Shai Bolton clone.
Tuohy is on his last legs, Jack Henry is struggling to get out on the park, SDK is banged up and a shadow of his 2022 self, Bews is older, slower and not in our best backline, Kolo same reasons as for Bews. That 2022 backline for all of the reasons above is no longer good enough. I feel like I am repeating myself. That was obviously an oversight.
We haven't lost any personnel from our 2022 premiership defence (SDK, J.Henry, Kolo, Stewart, Bews, Tuohy) so why is it so dire all of a sudden?
I'm happy to give Dempsey an extended run. With the point but I do want him on the wingYou’re kidding yourself if you think Rohan will play more than 10 games next year.
If you think that our midfield was worse than WC then I don’t know what to tell youReality though- we are the worst MF this season, for injury reasons, but what he says is true, the grass may not be greener elsewhere.
Good that we have him for 24 anyway, big chance he proves his worth, has a real breakout season, at worst, good depth.
At least he looks to be starting 24 with more running capacity.
Gould can't runWho would people rather?
Tim O'Brien or Will Gould? View attachment 1827623
No it was just last season he played for his new club - prior to that he was at Nth Melb - and frustrated them - because he had ability - highly inconsistent - maybe a left foot kick - but could be a dangerous forward on his dayWhich decade?
I can think of a few.
PORT FORWARD UNDERGOES MEDICAL
OUT-OF-CONTRACT small forward Orazio Fantasia has undergone a medical with Greater Western Sydney as he looks to extend his AFL career.
The 28-year-old is yet to secure a new deal at Port Adelaide after managing just four appearances across the past two seasons for a total of 19 games since moving from Essendon at the end of 2020.
Greater Western Sydney has met with Fantasia, but the Giants aren't expected to have any list spots available to trade for him or sign him as a delisted free agent at the start of November, with the club interested in adding a mature-age player via the Rookie Draft.
Tuohy is on his last legs, Jack Henry is struggling to get out on the park, SDK is banged up and a shadow of his 2022 self, Bews is older, slower and not in our best backline, Kolo same reasons as for Bews. Wouldnt work against the top sides that just mark the footy all game longCameron, Rohan and O.Henry is enough marking power up forward.
Latest murmurings are that WC will retain pick 1 and take Reid. North to use 2 and 3 on McKercher and Duursma. Leaves Hawks with Watson and Dogs likely to take Sanders. Disappointing but the Sanders dream to fall to us was probably always unlikely.
Melb looking at Caddy or Curtin. Leaves GWS to take the other or O’Sullivan.
Leaves us with one of those 3 above or Wilson.
Would be happy with either curtin, caddy or O’Sullivan
Henry was extremely unlucky to injure his non recurring foot with an impact injury. He had grown into his 2021 form and will have a big year in 2024.Tuohy is on his last legs, Jack Henry is struggling to get out on the park, SDK is banged up and a shadow of his 2022 self, Bews is older, slower and not in our best backline, Kolo same reasons as for Bews. We'd be playing a different style of football. A team rule to never go down the line, quick switch at every play rush the ball to HFFWouldnt work against the top sides that just mark the footy all game long
It's more marking power than Collingwood had up forward this year.Wouldnt work against the top sides that just mark the footy all game long
Fair point. Their names are ok, but they were as affected by injury as we were, maybe moreso- Kelly, Shuey, Sheed, Gaff, Hewett, Ginbey...If you think that our midfield was worse than WC then I don’t know what to tell you
Of all the players for the dogs to trade up for, an inside mid to me makes the least sense. Am I missing something?Latest murmurings are that WC will retain pick 1 and take Reid. North to use 2 and 3 on McKercher and Duursma. Leaves Hawks with Watson and Dogs likely to take Sanders. Disappointing but the Sanders dream to fall to us was probably always unlikely.

Mason Wood. Yes, very talented and an underperformer at NM mainly injuries and then the Covid years. Geelong Falcon too.It was Mason Wood - and i just looked him up - and i see he played all 24 games for StKilda this year
Obrien reminds me a bit of him
