Not sure Essendon would match band 2 (or 3 if they have a bad year). If he wants out they won't force him to stay. And if the club he nominated isn't going to pony up a 1st rounder then they won't get more in a trade than three compo.

Yeah they would especially if they finish bottom 6 unfortunately lower clubs have set that precedent re matching unless its band 1 (like nm with mckay) and ess have been banking cap for years so they can.if they finish top 4 they might let him go for band 2 (as then the difference between band 1 and 2 is negligible) but they wont finish that high. If we could get him for say 600k hes worth it but you are going to need band 1 eg 800k or more to get him out without a trade and hes not worth that $.

Macdonald i do like but knevitt (if he comes on) is the better fit for us given blitz age.

Blizavs is unique. We shouldn't expect to be able to replace him like for like.

Honestly cant comment on cm v Knevitt but as it stands , you have a player playing v one not playing. Jury is out long term as Im still very hopeful once the kid grows into a mans body he will be a player for us. Bolton V Parfitt ... Considering what he showed in the champs I was surprised that Bolton lasted to the number he did. I can only guess that they had their reasons.

Humphries played at half back in the half I saw yesterday. Recruited to play from that area?

He didn't "look" fast or "slow" but in the second quarter he kept turning up in the right places to receive and delivered the ball well off both feet.

Still in need of body strengthening etc but my first impression was very positive.

FWIW Tim Kelly delivered us much more than Taylor would have.
If's But's Maybe's... leave it to the kids in the playground TC as that is where it starts and ends.
See too much of it and it's a futile silly exercise where folks presume those who we missed would have had the same impact or career in another setting or scenario. That's just fantasy stuff TBH.
I'm happy we took TK... I wish we took TDK or Tommy McCartin after missing on Oscar Allen when the Eagles heard we liked him. Hence they missed on TK but paid dearly later on. Such is Life as they say.
But i digress as i'm heading into the same rabbit hole that i try to avoid lol.

I am of the opinion FOSTER is better than Neale in footy nouse.
Might not be as athletic but is a footballer first. Neale great athlete then footballer.
Just my view.
Gonna be great seeing these two blokes blossom in the upcoming years.
