AFL should change the result here. This is not fair.

I thought it was a goal, however the AFL wont change the outcome of the game. Mistakes have been made in the past, where the AFL admits this, and the results of the match stand. While it's an easy way out for the AFL it doesnt make it any easier to accept

Adelaide would have won. Sydney attacked immediately after this and couldn't score. Sydney were gifted their spot in finals.
If a goals awarded the ball goes back to the centre of the ground. Not to mention it completely changes the mindset and intent of every player on the ground.

You simply can't reverse a result when there was over a full minute to play in the game. Sucks for Adelaide but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Adelaide had all the momentum. Sydney wouldn't have scored.

Goal umpire was in a better position than any camera angle I’ve seen. But BigFooty.
Laughable. The ball has daylight between it and the goal post as it crosses the line 4 metres above ground level

The AFL will come out and back the goal umpire as being in the best position, there was "insufficient evidence" to overturn based on their Logitech webcam 240p footage, and the snicko wasn't working because it'd be too embarrassing if it was.

Also there was no reason to review it, because they reserve stopping the game for important moments like when GWS are winning by 120 points.

Case closed!
But that doesn't work with this one.

They've been done in by the Fox Footy front on UHD camera, which shows great slow mo of the spinning ball front-on, and an air gap the entire time it's abeam that section of the post.

To deny will be the worst option

100% a goal. If the AFL does nothing about this then I dunno...we may as well be living in Venezuela.
This is the problem.

It would be interesting if Adelaide took this to court.

People will scoff at this post, but think about it for a second - a court needs to judge on reasonableness.

Is it reasonable Adelaide would have won if the correct decision were made?
