I was critical of Roosy playing a not fully fit Goodes, but to throw him forward like that was a master stroke. Albeit against Fremantle, dont know how well that will work againist Cats for example, but hey if it works it works, and its working tonite. Goodes obviously still not running as freely as he'd like, which bothers me for finals, but if he can kick 3,4,5 goals, then we'll take it.

Much better effort for Swans, but again, against 12th. Lets hope dogs can take the roos.

Or 8 goals! That win goes to Roosy, ever the master strategist. I'm actually starting to think we stand a chance against Geelong next week.

Lets not get carried away, although Freo are playing better then their ladder position at the moment, and lets face it, Pav could of sealed it for them.

BUT

GREAT WIN

Bevan with a match saving mark, Goodsey with a lazy 8 goals and a freakish goal from Hall got us over the line.

Possibly the best game for Judes career??

Still a lot of pasengers in the team but I'm pumped to bitch right now!!

Top effort from the bloods of old!

Great win. Very uplifting.....however, it was a game we were expected to win. Nevertheless you just never know how the other team will come out and play and Freo played alot better than their position on the ladder suggests.

Great win lads....

He was so deadly accurate. Roos has found another option for the finals.

reality is, similar result to our wins against Eagles and Port, which is not particularly exciting, but what it will do is provide some confidence for the cats, and confidence is worth 6 goals alone. Apart from that, a great game for fans, and that is what the game is all about, finals aside.

I know i may not sound positive but thinking like that only leads to disappointment.
We would be lucky to get within 10 goals of Geelong to be perfectly honest the way we are playing atm, how exactly are we gonna kick a winning score given that Scarlett usually destroys Hall and Mickey O is still injured?

How effective will Goodes up front be against the Cats? Hall HAS to try something different, or Roosy needs to play him in a different role and get him off Scarlett sooner rather than later. I reckon a complete front and backline swap could be the go.;) Richards, LRT, Leo, Bevan and Grundy forward. Think about it. Could work.

It was obvious that Goodes wasn't 100% to run and carry the ball in the midfield, and since we were down on KPP forwards, it was the only option for Goodes to have stint in the forwad line. Having Goodes hang around the goal sqaure was a pretty damn good idea. He's a strong athlete who can use his body well in marking contests. It was great to see Goodes fly and mark up high. :thumbsu: He's probably one of the better options when you want to kick it to a one-on-one contest. Goodes has the smarts and good body strength to outplay his opponents 90% of the time.

Mickey back next week apparently and I would guess Mal back next week too. He had a good run in the ressies today.

If i recall Correctly Mickey said in his interview on the boundary he is still a few weeks away so maybe im thinking either round 21 or 22.

Richards yes. Despite his lacklustre kicking skills against the dogs, the guy is a fantastic mark and I would love to see more of him up forward. As handy as he is down back, I reckon he could be the strong mark we need in our forward line once Goodes is back to the middle.

Congrats on the gutsy win fellas; Goodes just too Good.

Best of luck against the pussies next week, their supporters have been very arrogant... I suppose they have a right to be

Cheers just a question Were Sydney supporters arrogant like this during our 2005/2006 years
I wouldn't know because i didn't discover this web page till this year.

Very few - if any - were. But then the Swans weren't the all-conquering team that Geelong currently are so we didn't really have the same situation to be arrogant about.

West Coast fans on the other hand...I wonder what did happen to that dynasty...

I actually see us kicking a winning score against the Cats. Scarlett could shut down Hall, but that leaves Goodes to kick a bag, McVeigh to fire again, Vesz to get a few, Jude to kick a couple, plus others, even if Hall barely gets a touch and just acts decoy.

Very happy with the game tonight, and perfectly fine with admitting I was wrong about playing Goodes.

Oh don't get me wrong, I am *expecting* that Geelong will beat us convincingly, but I think there is at least a sniff of a hope now. The team tends to lift for the big games.
If Roosy can come up with a way of bottling up the cats free flowing game, choke up the corridor and make them play out wide, who knows?

The inside word was back next week but i saw the interview with roos afterwads and he said not next week so i guess the inside source was wrong. Sorry guys!

How will his syphilis pull up this morning Malfan ?

I only hope he was not the first one in the after match icebath.

I wonder if Goodes might end up finishing his career playing out of the goal square? Maybe something to consider given our lack of KPPs.

Trouble is, you are robbing Peter to pay Paul, he is our most creative midfielder and does lots of work up and down the ground (when fit).

Until Grundy moves into the midfield, and provides that role as well, ideally, we really want Goodes being damaging all over the ground.
