Wow this console war shit has gone so far you are now at the controllers, lol.

Really it depends on what controller you grew up with, if you had an xbox most your life then that control would feel most comfortable for you, vice versa with the ps controller.

But that's not really true. As I said, I spent my share of hours on the PS2, and have always hated it.

I'm guessing you played the Olympics game with that ____ing marathon where you had to toggle (couldn't think of a suitable word) the joystick back and forth for about 10 hours.

Decathalon was similar. 100m dash wasn't conducive to a joystick's longlife - the Atari 2600 joystick is the only piece of electronic equipment that my mum has disassembled and fixed (superglue).

The modern equivalent would be a PS3 game where you had to stomp the joystick buttons with your foot as hard as possible.

I've grown up with the following consoles:

Atari 2600
NES
Sega Master System II
Megadrive II
Nintendo 64
Playstation
Playstation II
XBox
XBox 360

My favourite controller of the lot for comfort was the 6-Button that came with the MDII. That was sweet. Small, smooth, nice layout, etc.

For ease of use/memorising controls the Playstation I/II contoller was great. With the XBox, for some reason I still find myself looking down at the pad on a game like CoD3 when you're planting explosives, whereas the Sony Square/Triangle/Cross/Circle buttons are totally ingrained.

How can you go past the NES controller? Compact and simple. Cross, start, select and A & B. Those were the days!

I can still hear the backround music to International Cricket.

Or the inspirational training cut scences in Mike Tysons Knockout with the Dr.

Wow, I really miss my NES.

On the 360 controller the back right trigger controls the acceleration of the car. Since it is a gradual trigger, you can control the amount of acceleration like you would in a real car. How does this work on the ps3? Isn't the back right button just...a button. That'd mean you'd only have either max acceleration or none? Wouldn't that make things quite hard? It'd be like racing with a keyboard.

Forgive me if it's different though.

No, we have the same concept as your pig of a controller.

I still put the following on my resume/CV:

"485* with M. Sailor in a 50 over game"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I was trying to think in my previous post what they Called David Boon. I think it was D. BOOD or something like that.

485* - that's impressive. Once the spin bowlers came on my sixes dried up!

Ah, thank for the memories my friend. You are a deadset Legend!:thumbsu:

Yeah it is exactly the same, the R2 and L2 are accelerator/brake. There is no way the PS3 would just revert to an on/off button considering the analog was used on the PS2. At least this has finally got some of my mates to realise that the analog for gas/brake was better than pressing bloody "x".

Not a bad concept by the Xbox team with those achievements, pity the PS3 doesn't have the same...
They will be coming very, very, very soon.

Wait until June 12.;)

Ah, that is good news! Will get some replay value after all.

On another note, does anybody know when Resident Evil 5 is out? I downloaded a trailer on the PS online store and it looks the goods!

Nobody knows, it has been said for a release of up to 2010, some are guessing October/November, but nobody really knows, there is now a counter on the RE5 website, the problem is the counter is going up not down.

What a game! Still the best cricket game I have ever played, and the backround music was so addicitive. I still find myself humming it every now and again...

My only criticism would be some of those LBW decisions were disgaceful. I swear it had a 'catch up system' built into the game like Daytona did. Everytime you were on the way to a massive individual total, a ripsnorter of a leg break would cut back in and get you plum everytime...Thats when I would switch to NES golf with Mario. Another classic!

Did anyone use to have problems with their NES and repeatedly have to take the game out and blow in the console and at the base of the game to get it working again? Bloody fickle machine. I went through three of them much to my mums disgust as she had to fork out for a new console each time.

The Yanks have been watching those TAC ads... or did they stick it in for the Aussie version? Went out boozing again, Niko jumps in the car and goes 'If I drink and drive, I'm a bloody idiot!'

Ha! That's tremendous. I haven't come across it yet, I tend to avoid the friend outing/date stuff, tedious.

Although it can be a bit annoying, you can get good rewards out of it and learn alot more about the characters, plus falling over while pissed is a riot, try calling for a taxi too.:thumbsu:

yeh it's funny, for about 3 seconds! Hailing a cab is a nightmare. I've been run over several times, occasionally meaning I don't get my date/mate back and it's all a waste!!
