It's only to the intrest of Gumbies and Dees player's and yet it struggles to attract them which says to me the rivalry never will work.

Incorrect. This isn't even to do with rivalry neccessarily. Firstly, the Demons and Gumbies players will be less active as their teams aren't in the finals. Secondly, this thread is one of many threads I have issued that is aimed at encouraging the Gumbies to request a name change for the good of the competition and themselves. Trust me, the end justifies the means in this case. I can handle one negative response to a thread to get the point across. And yes, I would like to start a rivalry with the Gumbies. But hasn't it already worked? I mean, as much as the Gumbies can come out and say no, it still generates discussion, debate and some sledging. So has it not already been justified in a way?

Meh, at least this thread is better than the one ages ago when someone posted a ladder with the wrong percentages and absolutely copped it. Can someone remind me who that was please?

Well it's bagging there Mascot/Symbol which is one way of starting a rivalry I presume. Never mind do what you wan't Okey just do better threads as you do some great one's so stay clear of the Gumbie one's.

I remember some time ago someone made the effort post the ladder but couldnt work out how to do percentages properly, and he copped it from all angles, and then started getting really defensive and fuelled the fire. I am trying to remember who it was, my memory needs jogging.

The name Gumbies shits all over the Demons name wise and on the field we shit all over them aswell...After all they did finish dead last with a wooden spoon to their name...Just like their namesake in the AFL
