Gysberts And Jetta

When we drafted Gysberts (pick 11) over Jetta (Pick 14) I was very surprised as Jetta was a lock at Pick 7 to the Eagles for weeks leading up to the draft, and I thought we would swoop on him. However I am now very happy where Gysberts is at. Both inked new contracts with there club this week and I was just wondering who you think will be better in the long run? Both will be special players but obviously very different.

Their is often "Sliders" in the draft, but keep in mind that its only based on phantom drafts and 'expert' opnions. From all report MFC rated Gys as one of the top picks for the 09 draft and are stoke with him.

I was supprised when we read at his name because I hadn't seen much talk of him by the above sources but I'm really glad we have him now.

For the long run you could argue that we have the type of player that Jetta is already and that 2 Jettas would just confuse all involved.

Not fair on either player to judge one over the other yet, but I am very happy with Gysberts so far. He is a ball winner, good in the stoppages, and has a composure not usually seen in 19 year olds. He will probably be the one that often gets overlooked when compared to Scully and Trengove, but will end up being just as crucial to our future midfield.

Are you referring to the rumour BS, that went along the lines of Nevilles mother or Auntie suggesting that we recruit Lewis instead of Neville in 08 knowing that WestCoast were interested in Neville and that Lewis wasnt going to get drafted that year.

It was also suggested that Lewis was the better Jetta at that time by Nevills mother, but our recruiters couldnt select a player they had never seen in action?

I was suprised when MFC didn't swoop in on Jetta at pick 11, I never heard of Gysberts. But so far Gysberts has been very good, and looks to be a productive player for years to come.
