Okay! Thanks Lestat, I was on the right track ... not as severe as a different room, but at least a different area.

It's kind of similar (in practice, not belief) to my missus and me, she's a vegetarian, and I eat meat specifically in order to make animals die*.

So when we're cooking, we won't even use each other's wooden spoon to stir the other's meal without putting it through the dishwashing liquid ... and we use a separate pan each ... and if we order pizza, half-and-half is insufficient because the two halves can't have touched each other.

The thing is that if it isn't to do with a 'logical' reason such as a health issue, then these days it's all too much of a bother.

It's a pity some people live in fear and ignorance still rather than actually wanting to learn why. I don't know that everyone would want to 'screw some muslims' just merely that they are purely selfish.

The one thing I'm offended by is the fact that it was not the Islamic community leaders that started this, they did not demand that ham be removed from sandwhich platters at offical functions it was the other members of the council.

The group who would've is the Jewish community, they've gotta have everything. They are the whingers not the Islamic community, I have never heard anything out of the Victorian Islamic community claiming racial intolerence, wanting vengence from an 80 year-old following orders in Nazi Germany.

Fair enough...and agreed that today 'it seems' that health is no longer an issue. However their are some studies that have concluded that consuming pork increases the chances of stomach cancer. Studies which have been supressed by the industries! (I'm not singling out pork in this instance....many scientific findings are suppressed by industries....take fast food for example, I've read some studies on fast food, and believe me, if people really knew the health risks, they would not come near fast food).

From a muslim point of view however, the Koran states clearly that pork is forbidden (as well as carion, and blood), and until told otherwise (by Allah), it will remain forbidden. Allahs words are law to muslims, and its not out of ignorance....its submission to the will of God. (now i'm preaching )

For what its worth, the first command given to Muhummed in the Koran was 'Read'.

Muslims are encouraged to read, to learn....and to follow Islam out of 'ignorance' (eg. follow parents) or to have 'blind faith' is not enough. We are ordered to read, to learn about our lives, our world, and our religon. Many muslims choose not too...however many muslims do.

I for years strayed from Islam...I like many needed to find my own truth. I read plenty of books (inc. the Torah, the Bible, plus many Budhist, hindu and even read some American Indian spirituality books)...and in the end I came back to Islam. Now everyone's is different, and I can only speak of my own experiences.

i think what whoever posted that (i cant remember) meant was that they would go out of their way to deliberately spite the muslims, more like they are selfish and lazy, like they cant be bothered going to the extra effort to do it properly, or that they just dont give a stuff.

At home (its a grouse analogy, I'm getting plenty of mileage out of it), my wife doesn't want to use a wooden spoon that I've used on my mince in the frying pan ... to stir her friggin' lentils or legumes or ... something to do with legs.

Now, if I am doing all the cooking, and am stirring my cow's arseinto twelve jars of cayenne, and notice my wife's nuts and seeds and band aids composit-t-t-t-t-t-t-e needs stirring, I won't use the same spoon.

I'll grab the other spoon, and stir with that.

Now evade is saying, some people might thing, what the frig, and quickly stir the veges with the same spoon as has recently had eye-of-moo pasted upon.

Lestat, on the other hand, is referring to the people who quickly pick up a bit of cow and crush it up, and sneak it in amongst the vegies. Deliberately, because the missus don't eat moo and is proud of the fact.

But my first ever job, living up the sticks, was as a 'grain sampler' ... kids job casual rates for school holidays ... harvest season.

I tested samples from truckloads of grain and gave it a grading.

The three gradings subjects were moisture, weight and foreign bodies.

Re foreign bodies, we were trained to recognise which bugs were grain-destroying bugs.

because if it wasn't a grain-destroying bug, it was ok! Weevils were out, but ****roaches were in!

haha nice try dunce, but no luck. The French bit was generalisation the respect to their govt, and contribution to society post industrial revolution - no regret! And I speak of Malaysia and Indonesia with respect to their govts, who I know PLENTY about due to my relos involvement with their respective govts, and my work. Keep trying dunce boy. Lestat - My point about 'screwing some muslims' was referring to what you earlier said. I simply meant that people are not all out to get Muslims because they are Muslim.

That smacks of a reverse racism ie just perpetuating that most people are against Muslims because 'everyone else is'. The example I can give is where people who complain about sex on tv even late at night, or having car crash ads which offend them. We all say, 'turn off the tv'.

What it comes down to is simply people saying why should some people get what they want when others don't. It doesn't have to do with being racist or deliberately because they are of a specific minority group.

But you knew what I meant anyway, I just felt like saying some more.
