Drug and crime capital of Australia, that is funny, funny and seriously ignorant and deluded. You have heard of Sydney haven't you? And Melbourne, you know Melbourne where gangsters get shot at little league games of footy in the midst of a gang war. A city 1/5 of the size of Sydney and Melbourne is the drug and crime capital of Australia.

Drug related crime contribute a higher percentage to all total crimes in WA than it does in NSW and Vic.

Seized on arrival? Makes sense as NSW is more of an international gateway than WA.

Ah yeah, one of many victims of that gang war, I guess when things quietened down all the crims got jobs on the railways and got together for cups of tea. At least it was one more example than was given to back up the claim Perth is the drug and crime capital of Australia. Sure Perth has it's fair share of crime but to say it is the drug and crime capital of Australia is ridiculous. Small time compared to the big boys on the East coast.
Why is everyone so defensive of their own state/city when ultimately we all know that there are many people across the country who choose to use drugs? Not all people who use drugs abuse them to the detriment of their own lives, by the way. When discussing societal issues, can we please stop with the irrational, logically fallacious ramblings?
Oddly, in this supposedly free and democratic society we sure like to make everything a black and white issue. Just because some things and substances are deemed illegal, does not mean that they should be. And the converse is true - there are many freely available, legal products/foods that should be illegal on the basis that they contribute nothing positive, cause disease, and yield massive profits only for certain people running certain companies.
Oddly, in this supposedly free and democratic society we sure like to make everything a black and white issue. Just because some things and substances are deemed illegal, does not mean that they should be. And the converse is true - there are many freely available, legal products/foods that should be illegal on the basis that they contribute nothing positive, cause disease, and yield massive profits only for certain people running certain companies.

Of course it's ridiculous to say Perth is the drug and crime capital of Australia but the point is a statement like that is easily shot down with actual crime stats so why not use them instead of citing a murder from 12 years ago - that's equally ridiculous, surely?
