Sorry but thats how I saw it. I read the post you refer to and cringed but I don't think it warranted a poll.
BTW re-read my post. I said Taylor is clearly well ahead of Pears at the moment.

Ok. I took this line in your post "Pears is 21 and all things being equal his best is well ahead of him". Apologies if I misinterpreted that line. Just heard a few Essendon people saying Pears is going to be better in the future and with all the Essendon people voting Pears, I assumed that what you meant. Apologies if I was wrong.

Obviously Taylor is the better player, but the question was "which one would you select at your club," so I voted Pears because he's such a likeable boke and is great friends with Bellchambers, such great friends in fact that Belly has a tatoo of a pear and Pears a tatoo of a bell. Uprooting Pears for Taylor also uproots Bellchambers.

Apologies to Essendon supporters if this is not the correct joke, but I know it's something along those lines.

Taylor is better now and there is no use arguing. Pears has the potential to become elite, but he is still another few pre-seasons away, Taylor on the other hand is elite right now.

I'm still very happy with Pears and is our future full back for the next decade

No incorrect on every account.

First of all, no troll. An Essendon supporter in 2007 Draft thread I started in Drafts and Trading was adament Pears is a better prospect. I wanted to get public opinion on it, and it seems all Essendon people seem to think Pears is/or will be better, whilst every single neutral went with Taylor.

Secondly, Pears best ( which we haven't seen yet ) is well ahead of one of the best defenders in the comp, who is an All Australian, premiership player? Wrong again. If Pears best is well ahead as you put it, Tayte Pears would just about be the best player in the comp as Taylor is in the Top 25 players in the comp at his best.

Pears has hardly played the last two years because of injury. However, his form at the start of last year was every bit as good, I'd argue better, than Taylors. It would have been pretty difficult for him to make the AA team with so few games. He has also been pretty good the few games he's played this year. Taylor clearly can't play effectively from the goal square, Pears can and can also get a lot of the ball if playing up the ground.

The fact is that most opposition supporters haven't seen Pears for 2 years, so the poll results are no surprise. You can also tell by the number of Bomber supporters that have voted for Pears that we all rate him very highly. There is a reason for this, he's bloody good.

Taylor's one of the best KBs in the comp, i tipped him for AA again this year, love the way he plays, no fanfare, no fuss, just gets the job done, at the moment Pears isn't fit to tie his bootlaces, not saying that wont change though, very promising player is Pears but results>>>promise.

Pears best games are up there with Taylor's best games. In Pears second year after being drafted as a bottom age player, effectively making the same age as the 2008 draft class. With no preseason he destroyed Fevola and J.Brown from there he started 2010 in AA form.

If Pears hadn't have been injured this poll would be extremely close imo.
