Some more good signs with younger players - Im still a Brand fan, and loved seeing the new Lewis out there. Good times ahead there.

Cousins looking abit tired this week - he has been excellent last few weeks, he is going to have some patchy weeks this year. But he will be better for it.

I get that our medical room is full, but some senior players not delivering as much as I would like.

As an aside, good luck to them - they were better than us today, but people referring to them as premiership favourites are getting ahead of it. Cats will not win it this year. They have been primed to shoot out of the blocks this year, and are largely injury free at moment. Dont be fooled.

Smith should be embarrassed that Henderson who has less talent is out performing him and showing him how to run hard all year and what work rate is all about while Smith is just playing with very little effort.
I am not sure at all mate that Henderson has less talent than Smith as tackles, kicks to position, long kick, tough, takes overhead marks, good hands, great set shot for goal.

Or Smith look at me smirk when he has shot out in the preliminary final a couple of years ago and misses, then another shot in the final the other year on the run and misses... he wanted the Captaincy and was upset he did not get it. Sorry Dr Smith; the pain the pain, you can run and kick long but we need leaders in adversity, tough who tackle not soft piss-weak efforts.

Well done Hawks to finish fight it out but we still need some new blood. Pray we get Cogs and Patton next year .
Lewis showed that he is a beauty for his first game.

Gunston, Breust etc I am not sure what is going on and O'Meara must be still injured as like a ghost today.

Scully was also poor sadly.

Morrison and Nash to go to Box Hill immediately indefinitely as Shiels to come back and hopefully someone that plays for the jumper.

We really need a big forward.

Sicily was mostly very good I thought along with McEvoy. Worpell okay also.

Umpires were consistent dare I say it for most part as a couple of decisions still bewildering for both sides.

Cousins?

I was proud we fought it out till the end though but need some so called leaders to put their head over the ball and show a bit of mongrel.

Take away our fade outs at the end of both the first and second term and we end up in front. It's a simple way of looking at it but those cheap goals hurt and we've been guilty of conceding these all year.

On the player front, Nash needs to head back to Box Hill and Morrison should probably follow him. Both were ineffectual today and really struggled to get involved. Give them some time to find some confidence and develop their game at the lower level.

Lewis played well and needs to be given more games. Created contests well and was generally able to get the ball to ground.
Brand handled himself well in defence, held Hawkins decently all game.
Puopolo played his best game of the year for us, his workrate is so good and it really showed how Wingard and Breust lacked that intensity when the ball hit the ground.
Worpel and O'Meara were both good, Howe also worked hard and Henderson continued his outstanding form.

Fingers crossed McEvoy was more of a precaution, has been massive for us this year.

We did okay and we learned a bit more about our kids. We can get better as the season goes on and our players come back. Lewis didn't really convince me of anything but did a few nice things and should stay in. Happy with the way Scrimshaw bounced back from a poor start. Realistically our older players kept us in the game and most of the kids couldn't contribute enough.

I think Mirra was tired at the end but there was a bit where he didn't follow up and have a second effort where I just thought, no chance to win his way into the best 22 consistently, doesn't matter if you're tired he's 28 and Roughy or Burgoyne could keep going. Okay depth if we have like 2 injuries.

RE Brand I think he's a good defender at his best and usually does well against good forwards, but there's just something structurally off compared to having Frawley in the team.

Very proud the boys were able to keep the margin reasonable with such an undermanned team and very slim contributions from a number of players. It showed some measure of character to come back in the last quarter, now we just have to hope McEvoy's ok.

Pleased with the effort - once again lacked some leadership from senior players when needed

Impressed with Worpel and Lewis gets to keep his spot - contested all day

We just gave them far too much space all day and transition goals killed us

Hopefully BB injury nothing serious

Don’t care how good he is I’m glad Ablett was booed- he is a homophobic ****

Onto next week

Cousins has played 4 solid games and one bad game. I’d persist. He will benefit greatly when Mitchell, Shiels and Burgoyne come back giving him a bit more freedom and maybe another midfield option coming off the bench.

Morrison should be under the gun as he’s gone backwards this year.
Yeah you’re right. Morrison easily in the gun before him. I just find he goes missing when the game is there to be won, but considering he’s playing the role that a 50-100 gamer should be playing, he’s done well.

Was at the game, saw Sicily on the ground, what happened??
Pig flew into him, pig named Porkins.

Thanks largely to the vehement defense on air by Watson on the replay, there is no way he gets more than a fine.

Scoring 90 points for the first time yaay, hopefully the boys kick 100 next week. Really like Mitch Lewis's game. Please keep him Clarko.

My highlight will be that Cousins's accidental goal :D. I know Gunston hasn't been accurate in front of the goal but please keep him in the forward line, our forward structure is better with him there.

I was sitting next to the injured players group. I can tell that they're really really disappointed. I'm willing to take their injuries and any future injuries as long as they can have speedy recovery.

Go Hawks!!!

I am completely ok with that game. Geelong are flying and almost injury free. We are struggling and injury kaput... with a bit of luck it may have turned into a nail biter. Sure we have issues...

Nash is the least of it hes a 20 to 22nd player on our list we have 2 blokes in th afl top 50 in bruest and Chad who impacted the game as much. I've been a proponent of saying pop is almost gone but his efforts 2 at least bring the ball 2 ground against 2 a bloody lot taller opponents compared 2 those two mmm. Also when gunston switched with him late in the third was there any better performance by him up forward hes an all aussie 22?

Arguably our best game of the year. Special mention 2 Gary Rohan who's performance in 2014 was arguably worse than Jason clokes in a gf but not softer than Lewis jetta's. He tore us a new one today. Hopefully he exorcised his demons.he doesn't play maybe we win.
