Enough about what those nice () Port Power fellas are/not going to wear this year, what are we going to wear? I like the Red, Yellow, blue and white vertial striped one here http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=318621&highlight=Heritage but I would also like to see the crows adopt an SANFL club's strip each year for a while. What does everyone reckon?
Cheers

Great idea i actually mentioned it in a port room a few weeks ago.....

would love to see the boys running around in a norwood jumper....

by the way can we get garry macintosh'es son under f/s rule....

What about a guernsey with knife in the back?
That would be Richmonds guernsey for the 90's themed heritage round wouldnt it?! :D
As for Mcintosh, you'd think his 371 games would qualify but with the AFL you never know, they'd find a way around it if it turned out he was pretty good.
But seriously what do people think about the heritage round guernseys?

well if port get to wear the prison bars we should be able to wear the state guernsey, as this is a symbol of the SANFL were we originate from

Would hate to see that happen personally.

Also think the State guernseys should be off limits as they are an earned privilege above and beyond club football.

We should just wear our original 1991 strip and the AFL should continue to get a kick in the arse for creating concepts the majority of the non-Victorian clubs can't properly participate in.

just hopefull with the great macca's son, don't even know if he has one..

any crows father sons on the horizon....

i wouldnt mind if the power got to wear there black and white..

Lol, I thought you were saying he had one coming up on draft age :) I have no problem with Port wearing their Black and White prison bars and I think we should wear the 79 state guernsey. Perhaps the standard Crows guernsey with the SANFL logo instead of AFL?

Macca has one son who is about 8 years old and Macca does not qualify under the father son rule. Don't sound so surprised. I assure you, we are waiting for Jarmans kids.

Eh?

He's played well over 100 games for the Adelaide Football Club.

His son qualifies.

fremantle run around in old south freo jumper....

imagine that rivalry round...crows in the red and blue of norwood and the power in an old maggie jumper....classic

he never played for the crows...

not sure if he didnt want to play he was getting on abit then or the crows didnt chase him....

would have shown diesel williams a thing or two if he had...

What i was insinuating is that Sons of Jars will be our first f/s picks, most probably in 10 years time.

Garry McIntosh did not play 100 games for the AFC and therefore his son does not qualify;)

But on topic, if we are going to run around in SANFL club gurnseys can it be the Port Magpies gurnsey first up? Imagine the lolz!:D

Sorry, doink...

Garry Macca-intosh versus Andrew Macca-leod.

Pwned :(

Garry Mac was going to be selected for the initial list but he wanted to stay at Norwood. Disinterested in playing AFL.

it will be pretty disappointing to have to wait that long....

Would be awesome to one day see a jarman running around again...

Would be funny but I think you can write that one off ;)

heres a thought for heritage round, anybody remember the 1996 pre-season jumper??

that was a pretty decent one, maybe time to bring it out the closet

I think they've been in that red & white one every year... they need to get some variety and go Easts blue & white once in a while. As for the Crows, everyone hates them wearing the state jumpers but unfortunately the SANFL created the club and its history is their heritage.

Was not the Crows built as a composite SANFL side? Fine, leave the current blue & gold V jumper alone, get out the old white panel jumper. But yes, the AFL shouldn't put restrictions on what era is going to be the theme. Just let the clubs pull out whatever they want from whatever period.

Oh, and on a personal note, I wouldn't have much problem with the Crows running about in a Central District jumper. But I'm sure a lot of other people would, especially if it was their own SANFL club's jumper.

what about each heritage round of the season we wear the SANFL guernsey of the current SANFL premiers???
if a team wins back to back then wear the team that played in the grand final

Landmark moments in SANFL history in different eras:

90's -- Woodville & West Torrens merger and first title in 1993, advent of AFL with North being first club to win SA premiership in new era.
80's -- Norwood's 1984 Grand Final victory, winning premiership from elimination final position, 1983 beating of Victoria and first West Adelaide premiership in ages.
70's -- North's 1972 magnificence in winning SA premiership and Champs of Australia title against Carlton.
60's -- advent of Central District & Woodville into competition, last South Adelaide premiership won in this time.
Late 19th century -- original Adelaide FC wins SA premiership in 1886 in colours of red, black and white.

Any of these could be the focal point of Adelaide's participation in heritage round.

I think you would find that this wouldn't be accepted by any SANFL club, There is a lot of history in the clubs guernseys which has nothing to do with the Adelaide Football Club. It would be a kick in the guts as the AFC was the start of the domiance of AFL over SANFL in this state and hence probably would not be a welcome gesture.

Just wear the first one you wore in 1991
