With all this hoo har over Ports jumper, there has been no mention of ours

Has anyone heard what we will be wearing this year?

Sturt won three flags in the 70s and their uniform doenst 'clash' with anyone in the AFL ;) , what do ya reckon about wearing their 1970s uniform? (not that it would happen)

Cheers

As a Sturt supporter... no

We are a franchise

Eagles are a franchise

Freo are a franchise

Port are a franchise

I sit here and I wonder if Port were smart they would ignore it all and say to everyone who asked that it is either prison bars or nothing

I like the idea of a rotational SANFL club guernsey. Say Sturt this year, Eagles next year and legs the year after etc etc. Bugger the black and white though but give the rest a run

Just like last year?

Never.

We are the Adelaide Crows, not Norwood, not Sturt, not Woodville, not West Torrens, not Glenelg, not Port Adelaide, not West Adelaide, not Central District, not South Adelaide, not North Adelaide.

I may be generalising here, but only those Crows fans with no interest in the SANFL or no memory of when it was the be all and end all (pre-1991 obvs) could seriously suggest this as an option.

I'd hate to see us wear the SANFL guernsey of any club - just couldn't barrack for any team in Norwood, Centrals or Glenelg colours.

My thoughts exactly, we were formed from the SANFL, so therefore, the SANFL is our heritage...

Some people confuse history and heritage

Major generalisation mate, I am a through and through Doggies man (have been since I went as a kiddie with my old man in the 80s when we were getting pumped), and am proud that they make up a PART of the AFC heritage, and am not fussed to barrack for the Crows in a Norwood, Sturt, etc guernsey because they are also PART of its heritage

Just my POV thou

You will only win this argument by staying true to what you want...not adapting

You said Port should boycott heritage round - prisonbars or nothing - correct?

They did exactly that last year.

Which is probably why they've gained a lot more respect and headway on the issue this year.

Make no mistake, if the AFL deny them the PB guernsey this time they'll be wearing one of the current guernseys just like last year.

I just don't see how you could.

If anything, it proves just how watered down South Australian football has become.

Hypothetical. If it was the other way around and a Victorian composite side entered the SANFL and for Heritage Round they wore a Collingwood guernsey, how many supporters of other clubs back in the 'local league' - Carlton, Essendon, Richmond, North Melbourne - would be happy with that?

Zero.

Why is it different for us?

hahaha cheering on the Crows in a Norwood, Sturt, Centrals etc guernsey what an absolute joke of a football supporter you are young man, how could you possibly cheer for a team wearing the WWT guernsey after they beat you in the big one last year?

that is a bloody terrible comment

And thats my argument...guess Ive been blinded by all the bitchy whiny threads on BF

That is true.

However, if you look at what heritage means:
http://www.answers.com/main/ntquery?s=heritage&gwp=13
her·i·tage (hĕr'ĭ-tĭj) pronunciation
n.

1. Property that is or can be inherited; an inheritance.
2. Something that is passed down from preceding generations; a tradition.
3. The status acquired by a person through birth; a birthright: a heritage of affluence and social position.

Then the heritage of the Adelaide Crows undoubtedly IS Norwood, Sturt, Woodville, West Torrens, Glenelg, Port Adelaide, West Adelaide, Central District, South Adelaide and North Adelaide.

The latter SANFL teams are the birthright of the Crows, the preceding generation, everything that is the Crows was inherited from them.

Thanks for the English lesson matey, but I'm well aware of what heritage means.

Still doesn't sway my belief that we shouldn't wear individual SANFL club guernseys or the State guernsey for that matter.

I can't see why the club should fail to acknowledge it's heritage in the heritage round.

The Crows and the 9 SANFL sides are completely different clubs though. It is not a sign of Adelaide ignoring their heritage, they should respect the local teams and not play in their guernsey. I would be ****ing disgusted if Adelaide wore North's candy stripes or V.

The SANFL is our heritage... but like I've said previously, if we wear anything, let it be from the AFC history, like the 1996 preseason jumper.
