I listened to the after game round up on 720 and Judgey made the comment that being this is the last draft before the AFL ____ it up and given Freo`s position now he was advocating the tank for Freo.

There was no sugar coating it - pretty much Freo need to finish rock bottom. I would be interested in your thoughts on this.

Not trying to stir the pot - I was a little taken aback by the comment and thought I would pose the question.

Personally, I'm for it !! As is well documented.
When the Captain of the team doesn't go for second efforts, I think we are doing it already.
Its not the first time he's mentioned it, he did it in the Worst on Friday !!

Home games against Melbourne, Essendon and your mob look like our best chances for wins. I expect we will finish with about 5 wins, which won't be rock bottom. We will have to get significantly worse to finish 16th.

Just because it was Judge's only tactic as a coach doesn't mean everyone else has to do it.

I don't think ANY supporter of football or a club would advocate tanking. The number one rule of football should be that you give your all to win, every week. Once you step away from that, I really don't know how you can come back.

Judge is a complete tool. Most negative carping pr&*k out there. Single reason I've stopped listening to ABC broadcasts of Freo games.

Judge is awful to listen to, but as much as no one wants to see their club tank, with the new clubs about to come in and poach all the decent picks, it makes sense. I'm sure Melbourne, Essendon, and us are all looking at the kids available in this draft, and although not purposely going out to lose, can at least see that one spot lower in the draft would be a big bonus in the future.

It's a broken system that club's exploit, and I hope neither of ours or yours do, but while the rewards are there it will always be a problem. Carlton are benefiting from it, and although they are disliked for it, if it wins them a premiership they won't care one way or the other.
