I am not sure what it is, but it has been a trait over the last few years.

How do we play so terribly, the opposition play so well and have other external facotrs (umpires) against us...yet somehow still always be in with a great chance of winning.

In the last quarter it was 10.8 to 10.9, but if we didn't have a scoreboard I felt like we were being thumped by 10 goals.

I though the Saints were fantastic last night, top 4 material. They were much smarter, much more experienced and much stronger than us.

The crowd probably helped along with some real desperation for the hard ball.
Hell even Macca went in hard for one. I wont mention the U word because the Saints deserved the win and killed us around the stoppages.

That may have been the case last night specifically with the crowd. But we do this when we play away as well. I can only put it down to our competiveness under Craigy. You could probably count on one hand the amount of times where we have turned up to a game disinterested, Richmond or Fremantle style.

I agree. We do have an amazing ability to hang in there and be a chance even in games where we seem to be worse on the night than the opposition. I think it says something about the spirit in this side. They want to win.

Top 4 material?

If they were top 4 material they would have capatailized last night and thrashed us.

They are top 8 max.

They finished top 4 last year, so are you saying they have regressed based on a 2-0 start to the season?

To be fair, they have played the Crows and the Swans, two teams widely tipped (whether rightly or wrongly) to be in the bottom 8 this year.

Mind you, those two teams have now beaten Collingwood and Hawthorn :o
