Collingwood are always a threat because no team in the comp can match the midfield trio of Pendlebury, Beams and Swan. Their success will largely come down to forward line play and backline stability.

I never said they wouldn't. But the fact remains its patronising to go on about Sydney beng under strength, because every side is at some stage.youre embarrassing yourself here. Sydney would demolish you in their current form
dont get carried away because you comfortably beat a poor side with half your percentage
Don't suppose Sydney had an interstate advantage or anythinghe phrased his post in present-tense, implying that Collingwood could actually beat Sydney right now.
in any case, beating Sydney in the 2nd round by a lesser margin than GWS the round before is nothing to brag about

You can only beat the opposition put in front of you. In Sydney's case, when we played them they weren't good enough.

Yes, but is was the biggest night in South Australian sporting history. We beat collingwood two weeks ago.
Enough said.
OK Computeryoure embarrassing yourself here. Sydney would demolish you in their current form

Don't know how that relates to Swan, Beams and Pendlebury.Have you seen Hawthorn vs Collingwood recently? 137,138,135,145,119. That's our scores over the last five games against the Pies.

I wouldn't say that either. Round 17 2012 Swan had 49 touches and Beams had 35 and 4 goals. Midfield has never been the problem - we've kicked 90 points just about each time as well.He was saying no team can match Collingwood in the midfield. Well Hawthorn have matched Collingwood in that department and beat them comprehensively.
Why is he embarrassing himself? He's stating a fact and you're posing a hypothetical.youre embarrassing yourself here. Sydney would demolish you in their current form

Yeah true but when we are on the bottom and Sydney near the top they struggle against us. Just one of those funny things. We struggle against the Hawks. Sydney have had very few victories against us since 2005 and we play them in Sydney every year. The Sydney of round 2 and the May version are completely different teams.

Backline on the other hand...
replying to a post stating that theyre not contenders until they beat a formidable team with "well we beat sydney in round 2" has nothing to do with facts. he is avoiding the question; sydney were not a formidable team in round 2Why is he embarrassing himself? Sydney scariest performance since they beat Adelaide last year. Or was it when Freo beat Sydney in the prelim?Maybe when Sydney flogged 9th placed carlton in their only final win last year? or was it when Port beat hawthorn? i just cant keep up so many good teams in the league. I just hope the hawks can makes the finals at least to farewell their older brigade.
It's neither of that, talent has never been the issue for he pies in the last few years it's been talented players abiding by game plans which is where the hawks and swans succeed ( and port is year). The hawks in particular religiously stick to the game plan regardless of their own games and talents , swans just as good. Where as when the pies won a flag and all of a sudden some of them thought they were rock stars and did their own thing that's why the club did the right thing and got rid of shaw, jolly, krak ( and Thomas who decided that the pies doctors advice to operate was wrong and instead went to bali surfing).I wouldn't say that either.
