How impressive are Collingwood?

Also late to the party. This is a development year for the pies. Still a very inexperienced side. When we are on we look really good. We are hardly ever on for a whole match and can just be off for large parts of the game. Good to see we seem to have found players for every part of the ground and once they mature we could be up there again.

Our disposal efficiency is the worst in the competition, most likely because of the inexperience. That will improve in time but until it does we will not be winning any flags. Still happy with how we are going this year! Reckon we will make finals and perhaps make it to a semi.

Flag is clearly between Port, Swans, Hawks with the Cats and the Dockers a sneaky chance. Any of those teams can win it if they find form at the right time.

Couldn't agree more.

Barely got out of second gear and still demolished the Saints. One of the most impressive performances I've seen in a long time. It was like watching boys play against men at times.

Collingwood look the real deal for me. They'll be hard to keep out of the top four (and hence, the flag race) come the end of the season.

Biggest story of the round, is the arrival of Collingwood as a legitimate flag threat imo.

Yep!
They made the Saints look like a team that's struggling.

Will finish the season top 2 without a doubt, The young players are hungry, Langdon, Thomas, Keefe, Grundy, Seedsman, Elliot the list goes on, The usual suspects look hungry for more success, The Coach is on a mission, the Fans will right there when it counts. The pies week by week as the finals loom will get better, then peak in big games at the G. Buckley was lucky to inherit great players, but he will also make great players himself, problem for the 17 other clubs, the pies can make this happen a lot sooner than a lot of you would like.

If the pies fall short this year, so be it, however everything is in place for years to come.

Most of my family and friends are Collingwood and half of em reckon they're a massive shot at the flag this year. So who am I to argue when I can just sit back quietly and watch the egg on their face.

I agree, although it's worse when officials, like say, coaches (the day before the season begins) to say a team is 11:30pm on the Premiership clock. Nothing but egg. So, so, so much egg.

May as well finish the season now. Sydney are obviously impossible to beat.

I love this quote by Einstein.

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

One thing is for sure going on your 3,300 posts before this pearler.

You are no Einstein so don't bother quoting him.

Almost laughable ..... Sydney are the most over rated team in the competition. Once the heat is put on them they will fall apart. School yard bullies. Would happily play them in a final. Hawthorn and Geelong I have the greatest respect for .......Sydney pfft

Like the last final you played against them and got your pants pulled down ???? Oh wait, it was an emotional week and we were mentally drained. Pfft !!!!!

what part of the word "now" dont you understand?
please learn to read and fully comprehend sentences before you waste your time replying to me
Appreciate you have no right of reply but...

A Sydney supporter not rating Collingwood is blind ignorance and would be similar to a Collingwood supporter not rating Hawthorn.

beaten by Adelaide and gifted 4 points by the umpires against WCE. lets not act like it will be a 1 sided game
and is Carlton beating Collingwood as far-fetched as Collingwood beating Sydney?
im just looking for some consistency from you people
Collingwood beating a team with as many wins as them this year, who they have already beaten...
UNTHINKABLE!!!

Given that the majority of Collingwood supporters here are saying that we aren't good enough to make a prelim, and would be happy to make a semi this year... I don't think that we are overrating the team.

Collingwood are as impressive as Ron Todd's salty jock-strap.

Williamstown gladly poached his famous goal kicking willie...

Seagulls would peck to death cowardly Magpies. Fried Chips have strengthened their feathered fortitude...

They're good but they're not top 4 material. Yes we can talk about potential and development and up and comers but all that is just talk until it happens. Look at Richmond.

Will they be top 4 material in 2015? Maybe. Maybe not.

.

Absolutely spot on.

Love how this was apparently a thread about Collingwood, but somehow almost managed to turn into hey another, "how good are we"swan fest! Love that opposition fans are shutting that down too! Seems we are all a bit sick of a diet of coke!

Go Pies, loving this season, watching our youngsters blossom, and the resurgence of some of our 2010 heroes. Most enjoyable season since 2010, no massive expectations, no come from behind how good are we wins, lots of effort, until this week not for 4 1/4s but the kids fight this week will hopefully wake up the seniors who are missing. Been a while since we've had a choice who to bring in.

Where are we? Agree with the poser I quoted, care factor? Not high, I'm just loving my Pies.
