It’s that whole “is our 5th best player better than everyone else’s 22nd best player?” conundrum - answer is probably yes across the AFL.

So every team has maybe up to 10 people that would fill that criteria. Assuming no salary cap.

Maybe a more insightful question is could be “which players from your best 22 would walk into any other team, assuming they were asking for the same salary they’re getting now?”

Making any 23 is pretty tough when you talk speciality positions. Like Gawn is still one of the best rucks going around and would fit on most list, but I dont think he makes it on North's list over Xerri anymore.

For the Lions I reckon these would be the most likely:

Then there's a bunch that would likely make most lists but a few teams might prefer what they already have:

Going back to what I said at the start of the year the first 5 are still good enough but I would be wondering about adding Morris and Wilmot to the list. Fletcher and Starc would be close too
