Nah mate .. most of the world cares about spelling and basic arithmetic.
It's only in Victoria that we prioritise gender studies, home economics, veganism and days off at attend climate change rallies over reading, writing and arithmetic.

You're not very clever, are you?

Clearly a typo ... and quickly corrected.
Unlike quarntine or whatever it was :)
I should have paid more attention in gender studies :)

Gender studies riled you up so much you forgot to pay attention in English...

Whilst your first statement is technically true, I didn't see any Federal government, Labour or Liberal, going out of their way to build mass quarantine facilities for a 1 in 100 year pandemic. Howard Springs was about the only one and that wasn't even built for quarantine originally and is now closed.

Hotel quarantine was a good idea if practiced well and most states practiced well. Andrews on the other hand saw it as an opportunity to filter some of our hard earned into the pockets of his security guard mates.

Andrews then had the light bulb moment of using correctional officers, which meant the DOJCS had to try and recruit thousands of correctional officers who were presumably out of work waiting by their phone waiting for such a call...

The Commonwealth spent $580 mill on a quarantine facility at Mickleham that is now closed, having dealt with a whopping 2168 residents. NSW did more than that every month at hotels even when it was a major problem before vaccines.

Howard Springs had no breaches, but most hotels had no beaches either. Having multiple Howard Springs / Mickleham facilities would not guarantee that there would be no breaches. For mine, hotel quarantine is not actually a good alternative to high cost official quarantine facilities that mostly sit as white elephants, it should IMHO be policy for such a pandemic. Scommo deserves a lot of flack for a lot of things, but this ain't one of them.
Mickleham not closed has been repurposed for flood housing iirc

You build purpose built quartining facilities fairly quickly, quicker than you probably realise. I could envisage in a few weeks. You don't really need to spend too much time with training staff if you move current medical staff to these facilities.
Yeah you steal medical staff off the northern; and expect us to do all the work. But you brand it as something the Alfred did and so gain the kudos without doing the work

Faarking Alfred entitled luxury tertiary hospital

Even if everything went 100% smoothly you would still be here crying about Dan.
No doubt you'd be on here singing his praises too.
I'd settle from something 'half-smooth', but this bloke routinely f*** up and us taxpayers pay the price.
Wants to slug family holidaymakers now.

"family" holidaymakers as opposed to your ordinary holidaymakers.
His evil knows no bounds.

I'm sure either Ian Cook or industrial manslaughter charges will sort him out...any...day...now.

It closed for quarantine purposes exactly 2 days before I busted 3 out of 4 rims on the Hume Freeway in the floods.

Regardless, I'm still not convinced that the Howard Springs / Mickleham type set ups will be as 'breach free' in a COVID-19 type scenario as some suggest. You can bet your arse some ****wits will be pod-hopping with their duty free purchased 2 x 1 litre twin-pack of Bombay Sapphire spreading the virus!

I can almost tell you where I didn't travel.

I went to NZ, the US, Brazil, half of Europe, and most of Asia. Can't say it was always for work but of course they wouldn't let me anywhere unless I said it was work.

I needed my holidays too so yes I took advantage of that. Yes I felt bad for people in Melbourne that they couldn't move for months. But that empathy lasted seconds when I saw how everybody else was going.

My recommendations in my reports were for harder lockdowns unfortunately you guys got the 80% lockdowns that went for longer, which was a huge mistake IMO. I also recommended immediate construction of quartine facilities for all international arrivals but it seems that politicians were more interested in showing their face on TV rather than listening to people like me who'd humbly have studied SARS COVID for 20 years.

I'm no virologist but the worst mistake we made was Hotel Quarantine and inviting the virus into our city. We basically gave the virus what it wanted... the greatest population density we had. Second worst mistake was Dan putting security guards in charge of the Hotel Quarantine.

Since we didn't have a proper quarantine facility, people in hotel quarantine should have been kept in regional hotels and accommodation managed by healthcare workers and police.

Yet, somehow, other cities housed hotel quarantines close to CBDs with security guards and managed to prevent outbreaks.

It happened here because there were other criteria for awarding the security contracts beside public health and safety.

So a security guard in another state v a security guard in Vic, did a different job because of how their boss got the contract?

no every single city had it break hotel quarantine containment, it's just whether from there it managed to take hold or not

we saw in NSW that once it gets away from you its not easy to catch

this idea that only Melbourne had HQ failure has been debunked and frankly at this point halfway through 2023 I think 20+ pages revisiting it is enough

if people want to keep talking about that they should take it to a covid thread

Commonwealth Games "scandal" ran out of steam.

Turns out the general Victorian public has a wildly divergent opinion and priorities to the media class.

Who knew a bunch of cab sav sipping flogs in Sydney don't have an accurate read on the electorate.

Pretty disgusting how the Andrews government treated public housing residents during lockdown. Still no apology though.

IBAC to the rescue or not, for Dan personally:
'Victoria’s Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission has been given the greenlight to table the Operation Sandon report after the Victorian Court of Appeal rejected a last-ditch legal bid to block its release.

The 300-page report, expected to be released on Thursday, is the result of a five-year probe into allegedly corrupt land deals between millionaire property developer John Woodman and Casey councillors.'

?

So.

Good, it'll be released which is a win for public disclosure, but it'll have zero impact with the electorate, no matter how the Murdoch set try to make bizarre and tenuous connections to Dan.

We're still talking about spelling errors? Do you realise I am on a phone swyping and not even typing? I couldn't really care less if I spelled something incorrectly as this is not a spelling bee contest, it's a forum where people share ideas.

I have implored the "resident epidemiologists" (did I spell epidemiologist correclty, ICGAF) and right wing fanatics how they would've handled quarinting (by the way I can say this word in 5 different without the use of a translator, how many langauges do you speak)? differently expect it's been a day and you guys are full of shit with no answers.

That's why you're on a forum acting like this, you have no substance, no integrity and life.

I have three degrees, one is in molecular biology, I finished with ease, my spelling was not an issue, maybe you're focusing on the wrong things. By the way I just typed this up on the phone, go check all the errors I've made, like I said, ICGAF, you can focus on the spelling, I'll fpcus on the big boy stuff like virues, protien strands and the like that you have no ****ing idea about if someone spent a week explaining it to you.
