our KPP depth, especially the youngsters coming through. Have we got enough talent there to make sure that there is someone to take over from Carey and Stevens and provide a good spine for us down the track?

I'd say average with a fair amount of potential that is offset by impending retirements or persistant injury worries.

We're travelling alright in the KPP department but we're certainly no Collingwood, Port Adelaide, Brisbane or St. Kilda.

Who would you rate as the 2-3 best prospects in this area?

Heh... well Bock can't play both ends and I don't think he'll get the required chances that those currently in front of him in the queue enjoy ;)

Agreed. There's not many runs on the board for the young KPP's with the exception of McGregor and Perrie.

Of the others, who have to be rated more on potential, my rating is

1.Watts

*daylight*

2.Hentschel, S.Stevens, Krueger

3.Bock

4.Rutten

Gee you must be a pretty big wrap for him. Have you seen him play?????? (This is not a go at you I am just interested if you did and how do you rate his strengths and weaknesses;))

Only the once Stiffy so perhaps my judgement is based on a good day.

He moves well for a big man and can take an overhead grab. He just looks a likely type to me that can be developed into a big unit KPP who can play both ends of the ground.

As I said, I was rating them on what I considered was their potential.

Fair enough. I just found out today that he actually didn't play footy last year which might be the reason he wasn't drafted last year. Apparently there was a family tragedy where he lost his older brother so he didn't play last year.

Anyone thats moves well, can jump, is a good contested mark and is over 6'3 is worth considering. A good KPP prospect.:D

I still reckon Watts is our best KPP prospect followed by Hentschel:)

Just imagine down the track that Parker, Watts, Krueger, Hentschel and Stevens make it:

FF: Krueger (195 cm)
HF: Watts (CHF) (197 cm)...... Stevens (HFF/FP) (194 cm)

HB: McGregor (CHB) (195 cm) ...... Hentschel (HBF/BP) (192 cm)
FB: Parker (193 cm)

Pretty tall team:D

I think Hentschel is a forward...

And I think Rutten will make a good full-forward.

Out of the likes of Watts, Parker, Krueger, S. Stevens, Hentschel, Rutten and Bock, surely 3-4 would turn out to be good AFL players.

I voted average as there is to many ifs & buts.

As for your list above Stiffy if we don't get at least 2 quality long time kpp from those we will be in a fair bit trouble.

Watts from all reports i have read looks the most likely but is still to be tested.

Rutten if he could only improve on his recovery speed might still be a leading light.

Hentschel certainly has had big raps from the coaching/playing staff so he must be showing something on the track.

Of the others there is still plenty of ?? to be answered.

He is a natural footballer. He has a good goal sense but with his light frame he gets pushed out of contests easily. Once he bulks up he will be a good forward but until then I think his place is in defence. He is just one of those players that will have to start off their AFL career as a defender and will eventualy move to forward line.

He can kick goals in a burst and really turn the game around. Has really good skills on both sides of his body for a KPP. He would just about be one of the best deliverers of the ball in our side. He will be a good player, he just needs to loosen up a bit. He is too tense when he plays for the Crows. Once he gets a bit more confidence and experience at AFL level, he will be a good player for us.

watts & stevens haven't even played a game for the club or been witnessed in the sanfl.

how the hell would anyone really know right now, or why would they claim that they do?

maybe they will be great, maybe they won't...
I don't know, and neither does anyone else right now.

Stevens is easily the most accomplished AFL player.

Whilst Rutten looked a lot better in his debut than any of the three games Hentschel played this year.

Agreed. He seemed to play with a lot more confidence against Fremantle playing across half back. He didn't set the game alight, but he was pretty servicable.

I voted good, I'm pretty confident a few of the boys will stand up...but like everyone else has said, so far its just potential, nobody has put the runs on the board.

So Stevens' 25 AFL games aren't sufficent to make judgement...

Do you have any idea?
